Heat Stress and Gut Microbiome Dynamics in Poultry: Interplay, Consequences, and Mitigation Strategies

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Heat stress disrupts gut microbial balance in poultry, impairing nutrient absorption and immunity. This review outlines the interplay between thermal stress and microbiome dynamics and discusses integrative mitigation strategies, probiotics, phytogenics, cooling systems, and genetic adaptation to enhance poultry resilience.

Dietary Glutamine Supplementation Alleviated Rumen Epithelium Oxidative Damage and Apoptosis Induced by Feed Restriction via Maintaining Mitochondrial Homeostasis in Female Yaks

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Dietary glutamine (Gln) supplementation increased the ATP levels and promoted cell proliferation in the rumen epithelium of feed‐restricted yaks. Besides, Gln inhibited ROS accumulation and reduced oxidative damage and apoptosis in the rumen epithelium of feed‐restricted yaks.

Glutathione peroxidase (GPx) levels in Mn-treated astrocytes.

open access: yes, 2014
This is a representative histogram of fold-changes in GPxlevels by densitometry, using Western blot analysis. There was a trend for elevated levels of GPx levels after 6 hrs of 500 µM of Mn exposure.

Heat Stress in Quail: Impacts on Health and Productivity, and Mitigation Strategies

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Heat stress disrupts physiological homeostasis in quail, inducing oxidative stress, immune dysregulation, and metabolic imbalance, which impair growth, reproduction, product quality, and welfare. Integrating nutritional, environmental, and genetic–epigenetic strategies enhances thermotolerance, sustains productivity, and supports climate‐smart quail ...

Effects of EH-MSC–derived exosomes on oxidative stress and inflammatory markers in a UVB-induced skin damage rat model

open access: yesJurnal Teknologi Laboratorium
Prolonged exposure to ultraviolet B (UVB) radiation causes persistent skin inflammation, resulting in oxidative stress, collagen breakdown, and progressive loss of collagen.

Enhancing Meat Quality Through Dietary Fiber: Insights Into the Gut Microbiota‐Derived Short‐Chain Fatty Acids‐Muscle Axis

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Dietary fiber (DF) modulates meat quality through the gut‐muscle axis by reshaping gut microbiota, improving intestinal integrity, reducing inflammation, and regulating muscle metabolism. These mechanisms influence muscle fiber characteristics and post‐mortem biochemistry, thereby enhancing tenderness, juiciness, color, flavor, and nutritional value of

Investigation of the Anti-Oxidative Stress Effects of Organic Acid and Silver Nanoparticles Coated on Zeolite in the Liver and Intestine of Broiler Chickens [PDF]

open access: yesپژوهشهای تولیدات دامی
Extended Abstract Background: Oxidative stress is one of the major growth-limiting factors that occurs due to the excessive production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and can lead to tissue damage in vital organs such as the liver and intestine.
