Overcoming skin rejection in composite tissue allotransplantation [PDF]
The application of composite tissue techniques is constrained by the susceptibility of skin to rejection. The aim of this thesis is to improve our understanding of skin rejection and find ways to avoid it, in order to enable expansion of the ...

Table_1_Treating Steroid Refractory Intestinal Acute Graft-vs.-Host Disease With Fecal Microbiota Transplantation: A Pilot Study.DOCX [PDF]
Patients with steroid refractory gastrointestinal (GI) tract graft- vs.-host disease (GvHD) face a poor prognosis and limited therapeutic options. To accurately assess the efficacy and safety of fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) in treating steroid ...

Canagliflozin treatment reshapes the gut microbiota in DKD and elevates levels of melibiose, a metabolite derived from Roseburia intestinalis. Melibiose directly binds to and enhances the enzymatic activity of glyoxalase 1, leading to decreased methylglyoxal accumulation.

The Epitope-Specific Anti-human CD4 Antibody MAX.16H5 and Its Role in Immune Tolerance
T cell modulation in the clinical background of autoimmune diseases or allogeneic cell and organ transplantations with concurrent preservation of their natural immunological functions (e.g., pathogen defense) is the major obstacle in immunology.

[Control of graft-vs-host disease].
Considering the merit and demerit of GVHD in leukemia patients following allogeneic BMT, our strategies for GVHD are as follows; (1) a mild prevention, (2) a treatment to control the severity, if occurred, and (3) an induction of GVHD in recipients who did not develop GVHD. We reported the results of recent trials in prevention, treatment and induction

Nanocellulose, derived from microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) through sulfuric acid hydrolysis or mechanical grinding to produce CNC or CNF, was tested in a rat ICP model. Particularly, CNF improved gut microbiota composition, reduced secondary bile acid metabolism, and restored bile acid homeostasis through modulation of the gut–liver axis.

The Role of Co-stimulatory/Co-inhibitory Signals in Graft-vs.-Host Disease [PDF]
Allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (allo-HCT) is an effective immunotherapeutic approach for various hematologic and immunologic ailments. Despite the beneficial impact of allo-HCT, its adverse effects cause severe health concerns.

HNRNPD promotes radioresistance in nasopharyngeal carcinoma by enhancing stress granule assembly and sequestering GRAMD4 mRNA. This suppresses GRAMD4 translation and inhibits mitochondrial apoptosis. Targeting the integrated stress response with ISRIB restores GRAMD4 expression and sensitizes tumors to radiotherapy, revealing a translational control ...

Accumulation and activation-induced release of preformed Fas (CD95) ligand during the pathogenesis of experimental graft-versus-host disease [PDF]
Fas (CD95/APO-1) ligand (FasL)-mediated cytotoxicity has been implicated in tissue destruction in a variety of diseases, including acute graft-vs-host disease (GVHD).
