Radiative corrections in grand unified theories based on N=1 supergravity. II. Gauge theories

open access: yes, 1985
The effect of radiative corrections in supersymmetric grand unified theories with soft- supersymmetry-breaking terms induced by N=1 supergravity is analyzed.

The skills required for transition to university and study in biological sciences: A student perspective

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Bioscience students were asked for their opinions on the value and teaching of skills. 204 responded that teamwork, time management and study skills are necessary to reach University, that scientific writing, research, laboratory and presentation skills are taught effectively during their studies, while other skills are gained inherently through study ...

A Unified Grand Tour of Theoretical Physics

open access: yes, 2002
A unified account of the principles of theoretical physics, A Unified Grand Tour of Theoretical Physics, Second Edition stresses the inter-relationships between areas that are usually treated as independent. The profound unifying influence of geometrical

Blood‐based proteomic profiling reveals context‐dependent changes in BCL2‐associated signaling during taxane therapy in breast cancer patients

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemotherapy side effects significantly impact cancer survivors' quality of life. Using protein levels in blood samples from breast cancer patients before and after 12 weeks of taxane treatment, we detected treatment‐dependent changes in calcium signaling and aging pathways associated with cancer recurrence.

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

The grand unified theory

open access: yes
This paper first reveals the absurdity of relative theory and quantum theory, confirming the fatal error of Maxwell's equation, it creatively combines thermodynamics, fluid dynamics and electromagnetism to derive the field equation, which perfectly reveals the essence of electromagnetic and superconductivity.

Derivation and characterization of retinal pigment epithelium from urine‐derived iPSCs

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Age‐related macular degeneration causes vision loss via RPE dysfunction and loss. Traditional iPSC therapies rely on invasive biopsies, limiting scalability. Here, we utilize urine‐derived stem cells as an accessible source to generate u‐iPSCs, successfully differentiated into pigmented RPE. This “Urine‐to‐Retina” platform provides a promising path for

Truth, beauty, and goodness in grand unification: A machine learning approach

open access: yesPhysics Letters B
We investigate the flavour sector of the supersymmetric SU(5) Grand Unified Theory (GUT) model using machine learning techniques. The minimal SU(5) model is known to predict fermion masses that disagree with observed values in nature.
