Selenium Nanomaterials for Wound Healing: Synergistic Strategies from Anti‐Infection to Tissue Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
Selenium nanoparticles (SeNPs) are emerging as multifunctional platforms for wound healing, integrating antimicrobial, anti‐inflammatory, and proregenerative activities. This review summarises key mechanisms and recent advances in SeNP‐enabled composite dressings, immunomodulatory nanocomposites, microenvironment‐responsive hydrogels, photothermal and ...

The interchromatin granules.

open access: yesHistology and histopathology, 1995
In the present review, we report on the data obtained on the most prominent elements observed in the interchromatin spaces: the interchromatin granules (IGs). Special emphasis is placed on the recent contributions of immunocytochemical and in situ hybridization methods towards elucidating the composition and the behavior of these nuclear substructures ...

Spatial Cell Death and Oxidative Stress Dynamics in Gas Plasma‐Treated Tumor Tissues

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
Schematic representation of the four experimental models to study tissue penetration and oxidation. Four tissue models were used. Human pancreatic cancer cells were grown on the chorioallantois membrane of chicken embryos and gas plasma‐treated in ovo, murine colorectal tumor tissue was gas plasma‐exposed ex vivo, murine squamous cell carcinoma cells ...

Rapid Denitrifying Granular Sludge Formation Methods for Closed-recirculating Seawater Aquaculture System

open access: yesJournal of Water and Environment Technology
Denitrification is an important process for water quality control in recirculating aquacultural systems. Denitrifying granular sludge reactors, such as upflow sludge blanket (USB) reactors, can achieve a high NO3∁EN removal efficiency under a short ...

A Grid of 3D Stellar Atmosphere Models of Solar Metallicity: I. General Properties, Granulation and Atmospheric Expansion

open access: yes, 2013
Present grids of stellar atmosphere models are the workhorses in interpreting stellar observations, and determining their fundamental parameters. These models rely on greatly simplified models of convection, however, lending less predictive power to such

Design‐Driven Production of Soybean Oil‐Based Structured Fats as Potential Substitutes for Palm‐Based Fats

open access: yesJournal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study examined whether enzymatic modification of soybean oil (SBO) can be tailored to produce trans‐free fats with physicochemical properties comparable to palm olein, stearin, or palm‐mid fractions (PMFs). US‐grown SBO was modified by lipase‐catalyzed acidolysis using palmitic acid at linearly interpolated substrate molar ratios (C16:0 ...

Methyladenine as a regulator of biomolecular condensation

open access: yesFrontiers in Molecular Biosciences
Ribonucleotide modifications modulate RNA structure and stability, thereby influencing RNA turnover and a wide range of cellular functions. Recent studies have revealed that specific RNA modifications can also affect the formation, composition, and ...

Design of Experiments‐Based Optimization of Recovered Carbon Black–Reinforced Isobutylene–Isoprene Rubber in Comparison With Conventional Carbon Black Systems

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Optimized potential of rCB via DOE: recovered carbon black from end‐of‐life tires was assessed as a full substitute for conventional carbon black in IIR composites. DOE and response surface methodology optimized rCB loading, plasticizer, and sulfur contents. Hardness showed linear trends, while rupture energy was nonlinear.
