Duck Orbivirus and Egg Production: A Newly Identified Duck Orbivirus Is the Etiological Agent of Egg Production Decline in Chinese Breeder Ducks

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Field samples from breeder duck farms with egg‐production decline were subjected to viral detection, genome sequencing, and virus isolation. Experimental infection demonstrated that duck orbivirus (DORV) causes a significant and persistent reduction in egg production in breeder ducks.

Purification of peripheral blood Granulocytes.

open access: yes, 2013
Representative example of preparation of granulocytes by a one-step double density centrifugation method [12]. In the left-hand panel, a whole blood sample diluted 1∶3 in PBS is layered on a double density Ficoll gradient: poly (density 1113 g/L) and H ...

Comparative Analysis of Salmonella typhimurium‐Induced Transcriptomic Changes in the Spleen of Beijing‐You Chickens and Guang Ming Broilers

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
This study analyzed the spleen transcriptomes of different chicken breeds, identified key differentially expressed genes (EGR1, FOS, and DUSP1) that regulate resistance to Salmonella infection, and elucidated the underlying regulatory mechanisms, thereby providing new targets for disease‐resistant breeding in poultry.

Immature granulocytes predict severe acute pancreatitis independently of systemic inflammatory response syndrome

open access: yes, 2017
Introduction : Early prediction of severity of acute pancreatitis (AP) by a simple parameter that positively correlates with the activation stage of the immune system would be very helpful because it could influence the management and improve the outcome.

Cytokine Pathways Driving Diverse Tissue Pathologies in Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a complex systemic disorder characterized primarily by articular inflammation and destruction with associated functional loss and reduced quality of life. RA is also associated with extra‐articular disease, such as that of the lung, with potentially devastating clinical consequences. The critical importance of comorbidities,

Phenotypic analyses of miR-125b expressing granulocytes after thioglycollate injection.

open access: yes, 2018
(a,c) BM chimeras were intraperitoneally injected with thioglycollate (3%) 4 hours prior the harvest of granulocytes from (a) bone marrow and (c) peritoneal cavity. Granulocytes (5 x 104) were tested in transfilter migration assays and C5a (25 ng/ml) was
