Avaliação da inflamação com base na liberação de radicais oxidantes por granulócitos na asma crônica não-controlada Assessment of inflammation based on the release of oxygen radicals by granulocytes in chronic uncontrolled asthma

open access: yesJornal de Pediatria, 2009
OBJETIVO: Avaliar a liberação espontânea de ânion superóxido por granulócitos de sangue periférico de pacientes com asma crônica não-controlada antes e após corticoterapia e de indivíduos sadios.

Accelerating Sono‐Piezoelectric Charge Transport for Antibacterial Therapy and Bone Regeneration by Metal‐Deficient TiO2 Spin‐Polarization Effect

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The deficient TiO2 (DTO) and Barium titanate (BTO) heterojunction treats osteomyelitis through SDT. The spin‐polarization effect induced by the unpaired spin electrons in Ti atoms can expedite the transfer of ultrasonic piezoelectric charges in BTO, enhancing surface sonocatalytic efficiency.

Prognostic significance of tumor microenvironment assessed by machine learning algorithm in surgically resected non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesCancer Reports, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract Background A methodology to assess the immune microenvironment (IME) of non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) has not been established, and the prognostic impact of IME factors is not yet clear. Aims This study aimed to assess the IME factors and evaluate their prognostic values. Methods and Results We assessed CD8+ tumor‐infiltrating lymphocyte (

Low CD4⁺/CD25⁺/CD127⁻ regulatory T cell- and high INF-γ levels are associated with improved survival of neuroblastoma patients treated with long-term infusion of ch14.18/CHO combined with interleukin-2

open access: yesOncoImmunology, 2019
Immunotherapy with the anti-GD2 antibody (Ab) ch14.18/CHO in combination with interleukin 2 (IL-2) has improved survival of high-risk neuroblastoma (NB) patients.

Promotion of Tumor Invasion by Cooperation of Granulocytes and Macrophages Activated by Anti-tumor Antibodies

open access: yesNeoplasia: An International Journal for Oncology Research, 1999
We investigated the potential role of anti-tumor antibodies and tumor antigens in the formation of immune complexes which promote matrix degradation and angiogenesis.

PP2A Promotes the Symmetric Division of MUC1‐Dominant Cancer Stem‐Like Cells in Small Cell Lung Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
During the G2/M phase, mucin1 (MUC1) activates protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A), leading to reduced phosphorylation of protein kinase C ζ (PKCζ) and NUMB, which promotes symmetric division and expansion of cancer stem‐like cells (CSLCs), thereby driving tumorigenesis. Combined inhibition of the MUC1–PP2A axis using LB100/GO203 with etoposide restores PKCζ

USP8‐Governed MDA5 Homeostasis Promotes Innate Immunity and Autoimmunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that USP8 stabilizes MDA5 via AKT‐mediated phosphorylation (Ser718), enhancing their interaction and MDA5 deubiquitination. USP8 inactivation degrades MDA5, suppressing type I IFN and cytokine production. Pharmacological inhibition of USP8/AKT alleviates MDA5‐driven autoimmunity, demonstrating the USP8‐MDA5 axis as a therapeutic ...

Changes in the exposure of CD11b on the surface of granulocytes, after activation of Toll-like receptors in children with recurrent infections

open access: yesБіологічні студії, 2016
The effect of activation of Toll-like receptors (TLR) on presentation of CD11b adhesion molecule at the granulocytes surface in children of different age with recurrent infections was investigated.

Akkermansia Muciniphila Alleviates Severe Acute Pancreatitis via Amuc1409‐Ube2k‐Foxp3 Axis in Regulatory T Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Akkermansia depletion correlates with acute pancreatitis (AP) severity. A. muciniphila and its protein Amuc_1409 mitigate pancreatic/systemic inflammation by expanding Tregs and IL‐10. Mechanistically, Amuc_1409 binds Ube2k, inhibiting Foxp3 ubiquitination to stabilize Treg differentiation and IL‐10 production, countering SAP‐induced SIRS/CARS ...

Detection of CD33 expression on monocyte surface is influenced by phagocytosis and temperature [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
CD33 is a myeloid-associated marker and belongs to the sialic acid-binding immunoglobulin (Ig)-like lectin (Siglec) family. Such types of receptors are highly expressed in acute myeloid leukemia, which could be used in its treatment.
