Activated Mouse B Cells Lack Expression of Granzyme B [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Immunology, 2012
Abstract Recently, it has been reported that human B cells express and secrete the cytotoxic protease granzyme B (GrB) after stimulation with IL-21 and BCR cross-linking. To date, there are few clues on the function of GrB in B cell biology.

WT1‐Targeted Oral Bifidobacterium longum Vaccine Enhances Checkpoint Blockade Efficacy in Pancreatic Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Oral WT1‐targeted Bifidobacterium longum vaccine promotes WT1‐associated cellular immunity and enhances anti‐PD‐1/anti‐CTLA‐4 efficacy in pancreatic cancer. ABSTRACT Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) remains largely unresponsive to immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) due to its profoundly immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment.

The immunological advantage of owned cats over stray cats: a comparative study of perforin and granzymes gene expressions

open access: yesActa Veterinaria, 2023
Some cats live at home with their owners while others live unattended on the streets or in shelters. One might expect that the owned cats would be better prepared for diseases with vaccinations, and good care and feeding conditions whereas the stray cats

Granzymes A and B serum levels in allo-SCT [PDF]

open access: yesBone Marrow Transplantation, 2008
Activated cytotoxic T lymphocytes and natural killer cells, which are involved in the pathogenesis of GVHD and viral infections after SCT produce granzymes (Grs). This study performed an ELISA in the serum of 86 patients at various time points before and after Allo-SCT to investigate GrA and GrB levels as potential markers for these serious ...

Materials‐Guided Gene‐Ionizable Lipid Nanoparticles to Reverse Iron‐Associated Immune Resistance in Renal Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Iron overload is a common metabolic disturbance in cancer and contributes to poor outcomes in renal cell carcinoma (RCC), yet its effects on the tumour immune microenvironment remain unclear. Here we identify a previously unrecognized immunosuppressive axis in which iron overload downregulates the palmitoyltransferase ZDHHC12 in CD8+ T cells ...

Cytotoxic T Cell-Derived Granzyme B Is Increased in Severe Plasmodium Falciparum Malaria

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2019
In Plasmodium falciparum malaria, CD8+ T cells play a double-edged role. Liver-stage specific CD8+ T cells can confer protection, as has been shown in several vaccine studies.

Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer Cells Utilize IL8 and CXCL1 to Suppress NK Cells’ Function and Facilitate Cancer Metastasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC) cells evade natural killer (NK) cell immunity by secreting IL8 and CXCL1. These chemokines suppress NK cells’ function via CXCR1/2 and enhance cancer cells’ survival through PD‐L1 upregulation and BCL‐2 anti‐apoptotic signaling.

Fish Granzyme A Shows a Greater Role Than Granzyme B in Fish Innate Cell-Mediated Cytotoxicity

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2019
Granzymes (Gzm) are serine proteases, contained into the secretory granules of cytotoxic cells, responsible for the cell-mediated cytotoxicity (CMC) against tumor cells and intracellular pathogens such as virus and bacteria.

BCMA‐Engineered Dendritic Cell‐Derived Exosomes as Bi‐Functional Therapeutics Orchestrating Cytokine Sequestration and Immune Activation for Multiple Myeloma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A dual‐function cell‐free therapeutic based on DC2.4 cell‐derived exosomes engineered to display BCMA. (Left) Soluble Ligand Sequestration (Decoy Function): DB Exo act as molecular decoys that predominantly sequester soluble APRIL with partial BAFF attenuation, effectively disrupting the NF‐κB survival signaling axis and suppressing myeloma cell ...

Tumor‐Infiltrating mregDCs Restrain Anti‐Tumor Immunity in Early Relapse HCC

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Tumor‐infiltrating mregDCs are regulated by the TNFR2‐non‐canonical NF‐κB axis, which is mediated by TNF‐α secreted by CD161+CD8+ T cells. These mregDCs recruit CD161+CD8+ T cells via the CCL20‐CCR6 axis, forming a positive feedback loop that enhances immunosuppression, promotes early recurrence of HCC, and further confirms TNFR2 as a key therapeutic ...
