Preparation and characterization of grease formulated from waste transformer oil

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2019
Abstract Grease is known as a lubricating material in a form of solid to semisolid mixture which is produced with the combination of base oil (80% - 95%), thickener (2% - 15%) and additive (0% - 10%). The limitation of soap grease performances as well as the volatile oil prices worldwide has led the interest in seeking alternative grease

Resource Saving and Environmental Benefits From Cooking With Natural Fiber Handcrafted Boxes

open access: yesJournal of Food Process Engineering, Volume 49, Issue 5, May 2026.
Cooking meals in handcrafted boxes is commonly perceived as a more sustainable option than using hobs. This paper conducts a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) that substantiates this assumption, quantitatively demonstrating that meal preparation without the box can lead to significantly higher overall environmental impacts.

Performance Evaluation of a Full‐Scale Anaerobic Internal Circulation Reactor Treating Calcium Rich Dairy Industry Wastewater

open access: yesWater and Environment Journal, Volume 40, Issue 2, Page 290-300, May 2026.
This study investigates the impact of calcium on the performance of a large‐scale internal circulation (IC) reactor treating calcium‐rich dairy wastewater. Excessive calcium concentrations (400‐600 mg L−1) resulted in calcification of the anaerobic sludge, reactor walls, and pipes, suggesting a 17% and 25% reduction in biogas and methane production ...
