Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Completing Our Education. Green Chemistry in the Curriculum [PDF]
This Commentary resulted from a series of conversations between an international group of chemistry and chemical engineering graduate students from the 3rd Annual ACS Green Chemistry Summer School, who reflected on their undergraduate education and discussed 1) the areas of green chemistry that were often neglected, 2) the value of integrating green ...

The process of internalization of the Shiga toxin A subunit via formation of a complex with the Shiga toxin B subunit, which specifically binds to the Gb3 receptor. The peptide is designed to act as a carrier of drugs into cancer cells. Here, we explored the potential of peptides derived from the catalytic A subunit of Shiga toxin (STxA) to be drug ...

An epithelial GPR35 isoform supports tumor‐associated transcriptional and metabolic phenotypes
GPR35 generates two functionally distinct isoforms with previously unresolved roles. GPR35‐short mediates immune‐cell chemotaxis, while GPR35‐long is enriched in colorectal cancer epithelium, where it supports increased metabolism, proliferation, and tumor‐associated transcriptional programs.

C3 Selective chalcogenation and fluorination of pyridine using classic Zincke imine intermediates
Regioselective C–H functionalization of pyridines remains a persistent challenge due to their inherent electronically deficient properties. In this report, we present a strategy for the selective pyridine C3-H thiolation, selenylation, and fluorination ...
