Consensus guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of growth hormone (GH) deficiency in childhood and adolescence: Summary statement of the GH research society [PDF]
The diagnosis and treatment of GH deficiency (GHD) during childhood and adolescence have been the subject of much controversy (1–3). To insure that patients are appropriately identified and treated, the GH Research Society (GRS) convened a workshop, on ...

Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

GROWTH HORMONE THERAPY FOR ADULT GROWTH HORMONE DEFICIENCY
SUMMARYGrowth hormone deficiency in adult life is associated with a number of adverse biological changes which include osteopenia, reduced exercise capacity, altered body composition, deleterious alterations in the lipid profile and insulin status, and reduced quality of life. Most of these changes can be reversed by growth hormone replacement therapy,

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Effect of growth hormone treatment on children with idiopathic short stature and idiopathic growth hormone deficiency [PDF]
PurposeThere are inconsistencies in the results reported in a small number of previous studies into growth hormone (GH) treatment in Korean children with idiopathic short stature (ISS) and idiopathic growth hormone deficiency (IGHD).

Growth hormone nadir during oral glucose load depends on waist circumference, gender and age: normative data in 231 healthy subjects. [PDF]
Objective (i) To analyse the predictors of GH suppression after standard glucose load (oGTT) in the healthy population and (ii) to establish the 97th percentile of GH nadir post-oGTT according to these variables.

Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.
