Effect of GSH on cerebral vasospasm in dogs

Neurosurgical Review, 1994
Reduced glutathinone (tau-glutamylcysteinglycine, GSH) is a scavenger for oxygen radicals and plays in important role in protection of cells from ischemia and from the harmful effects of free oxygen radicals. Free oxygen radicals due to cerebral vasospasm increase in both vasospasm and proliferative vasculopathy.

GSH CONJUGATING ENZYME

Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, 1968
To the Editor .—Recently Krasner and Yaffe 1 reported observations on the development of GSH aryl-transferase activity in mouse liver during the neonatal period. They also tried to enhance such enzymatic activity in the newborn mouse by injecting phenobarbital and substrate (sulfobromophthalein [BSP]) into the mother at the end of the pregnancy ...

1,3-Dinitrobenzene Metabolism and GSH Depletion

Chemical Research in Toxicology, 2002
Previous work demonstrated that the mitochondrial fraction of rat seminiferous tubules is capable of metabolizing 1,3-dinitrobenzene, using NADPH as a cofactor. Moreover, 1,3-dinitrobenzene treatment of rat tubules caused a decrease in mitochondrial GSH levels.

GSH-DA interactions

2010
Loss of dopaminergic neurons, oxidative stress, deficient bioenergetics and decreased levels of reduced glutathione (GSH) in the substantia nigra are biochemical hallmarks of idiopathic Parkinson’s disease (PD). The intent of this study was to test the hypothesis that disturbances in GSH and dopamine (DA) homeostasis are detrimental to dopaminergic ...

Human GSH-Transferase in Risk Assessment

1996
Human cytosolic glutathione-S-transferases (GST) are dimeric enzymes which have been classified, mainly by their isoelectric points, into four classes (Brockmoller et al. 1993): class α (basic, GSTA); class μ (near-neutral, new GSTM); class π (acidic, GSTP); class θ (slightly basic, GSTT).

[Effect of SO2 inhalation on the levels of GSH and GSH/GSSG in 9 organs of mice].

Wei sheng yan jiu = Journal of hygiene research, 2004
By spectrophotometric method, the level of non-enzymatic antioxidant glutathione (GSH) and the ratio of GSH/GSSG were examined in nine organs of mice of both sexes after exposed to sulphur dioxide (SO2) at several concentrations. The results showed that: (1) at 22 mg/m3 of SO2 inhalation concentration, there were no significant difference between the ...
