The GBA1 p.E427K (p.E388K) Variant Is a Risk Factor for Synucleinopathies: A Meta‐Analysis
Abstract Background Variants in GBA1 are important genetic risk factors for synucleinopathies, including Parkinson's disease (PD). Although several GBA1 variants are established risk or severity modifiers, the role of the p.E427K variant remains unclear.

Abstract Background Lysosomal dysfunction is central to Parkinson's disease (PD) pathogenesis, with GBA1 representing the strongest established genetic risk factor. Numerous other genes involved in lysosomal sphingolipid, glycosphingolipid, and ceramide metabolism have been proposed as contributors to PD, highlighting the need for genetic analyses ...

Plasmepsins as Antimalarial Drug Targets—Then, Now, and the Future
ABSTRACT Malaria is a devastating disease caused by Plasmodium parasites. Plasmodium parasites express ten cathepsin D‐like aspartyl proteases, called plasmepsins (PMs). These PMs have diverse roles fulfill diverse functions throughout the parasite's lifecycle, though several exhibit functional redundancies. Among them, PMV, PMIV, and PMX are essential

Small‐Molecule Kinase Inhibitors Modulating Circadian Rhythms
ABSTRACT The circadian clock mechanism generates 24‐h rhythms crucial for regulating various physiological processes, and its dysregulation has been implicated in numerous diseases. In cells, the circadian clock operates through a transcriptional‐translational feedback loop, where phosphorylation plays a pivotal role in maintaining accurate circadian ...

Process‐Structure‐Morphing Coupling in Thermally Activated ABS 4D Printing
Graphical abstract illustrating thermally induced shape morphing in FDM‐printed ABS beams. ABSTRACT Predictable thermally induced morphing in fused deposition modeled thermoplastics remains difficult because the deformation response is highly sensitive to processing and activation conditions.

ABSTRACT Obstructive sleep apnea is a clinical syndrome that triggers a series of pathophysiologic changes, including disturbed sleep architecture, chronic intermittent hypoxia and hypercapnia, and ultimately severe cognitive dysfunction. The hippocampus plays a key role in various cognitive processes such as learning and memory.

Exhaled decane and nonadecane discriminate allergic (AR + LAR) from non‐allergic (NAR + HC) subjects among individuals with chronic rhinitis. LAR patients display higher levels of exhaled nonadecane than NAR individuals at baseline. Subjects with FeNO≥ 25 ppb have higher levels of exhaled decane, nonanal, and styrene than individuals with FeNO < 25 ppb

IL‐33 induces inflammatory gene signatures in eosinophils, characterised by the upregulation of cell surface markers, inflammatory mediators and regulatory factors, all of which were also observed in nasal polyp‐derived eosinophils. Ox‐LDL and complement fragments (C3a and C5a) promote eosinophil adhesion and survival.
