Nanobody‐Decorated Lipid Nanoparticles for Enhanced mRNA Delivery to Tumors In Vivo

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a targeted mRNA‐LNP platform engineered with anti‐PSMA nanobodies for prostate cancer therapy. Using different in vivo models, the authors demonstrate selective uptake and mRNA delivery in PSMA+ cancer cells. However, while targeting is enhanced, mRNA delivery efficacy is limited by tissue penetration, tumor necrosis, and immune ...

Ubiquitin‐binding associated protein 2 regulates KRAS activation and macropinocytosis in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, 2020
Macropinocytosis supports the metabolic requirement of RAS‐transformed pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma cells (PDACs). However, regulators of RAS‐transformation (activation) that lead to macropinocytosis have not been identified.

Regulation of TORC2 function and localization by Rab5 GTPases in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The evolutionarily conserved Target of Rapamycin (TOR) complex-2 (TORC2) is an essential regulator of plasma membrane homeostasis in budding yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae).

The Small GTP-Binding Protein RhoA Regulates a Delayed Rectifier Potassium Channel [PDF]

open access: yesCell, 1998
Tyrosine kinases activated by G protein-coupled receptors can phosphorylate and thereby suppress the activity of the delayed rectifier potassium channel Kv1.2. Using a yeast two-hybrid screen, we identified the small GTP-binding protein RhoA as a necessary component in this process.

Bioinspired Design of Heterogenous Single‐Atomic‐Site Catalysts for Electrocatalysis and Photocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review gives a summary on the representative bioinspired single‐atomic‐site catalysts (SACs) and their applications in heterogeneous electrocatalysis and photocatalysis. The fundamentals of bioinspired design strategies are systematically discussed in the context of the first shell coordination, the second/long‐range coordination, and the outer ...

Role of GTP-binding proteins in the regulation of mammalian cardiac chloride conductance. [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of general physiology, 1992
Beta-Adrenoceptor agonists activate a time- and voltage-independent Cl- conductance in mammalian cardiac myocytes. To characterize the cellular signaling pathways underlying its regulation, wide-tipped pipettes fitted with a pipette perfusion device were used to record whole-cell current and to introduce nucleotides to the interior of guinea pig ...

LRRC8A Regulates Outer Hair Cell Volume and Electromotility and is Required for Hearing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies LRRC8A‐dependent volume‐regulated anion channels (VRACs) as essential for cochlear outer hair cells' electromotility and auditory signal amplification. LRRC8A deficiency disrupts cell volume control, impairs auditory sensitivity, and causes deafness, while targeted LRRC8A re‐expression restores auditory function.

Comparative analysis of blood whole transcriptome profiles in Yili horses pre- and post-5000-meter racing

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics
This study employed Yili horses participating in a 5000-meter race as a model to investigate exercise-induced gene expression alterations in peripheral blood using whole transcriptome sequencing.

MAPping out distribution routes for kinesin couriers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In the crowded environment of eukaryotic cells, diffusion is an inefficient distribution mechanism for cellular components. Long-distance active transport is required and is performed by molecular motors including kinesins.
