Archaeal box C⁄D sRNAs guide the 2'-O-methylation of target nucleotides in both ribosomal and tRNAs. These small non-coding RNAs are characterized by conserved terminal box C⁄D and internal C'⁄D' RNA motifs. Each RNA motif binds three

Cas6 specificity and CRISPR RNA loading in a complex CRISPR-Cas system
This research was funded in part by Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council [BB/K000314/1]. The APC was paid through RCUK OA block grant funds.CRISPR-Cas is an adaptive prokaryotic immune system, providing protection against viruses and ...

CRISPR/Cas13-Based Anti-RNA Viral Approaches
RNA viruses pose significant threats to global health, causing diseases such as COVID-19, HIV/AIDS, influenza, and dengue. These viruses are characterized by high mutation rates, rapid evolution, and the ability to evade traditional antiviral therapies ...

Small interfering RNAs (siRNAs), microRNAs (miRNAs), and piRNAs (piRNA) are conserved classes of small single-stranded ~21-30 nucleotide (nt) RNA guides that repress eukaryotic gene expression using distinct RNA Induced Silencing Complexes (RISCs).

Improved bacterial RNA-seq by Cas9-based depletion of ribosomal RNA reads.
A major challenge for RNA-seq analysis of gene expression is to achieve sufficient coverage of informative nonribosomal transcripts. In eukaryotic samples, this is typically achieved by selective oligo(dT)-priming of messenger RNAs to exclude ribosomal ...

Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.
