Contribution of α‐synuclein cytopathologies to distinct seeding of misfolded α‐synuclein
This study investigated whether brain regions with distinct predominance of α‐synuclein (αSyn) cytopathologies show different αSyn seeding patterns in multiple system atrophy (MSA) and Lewy body disease (LBD), using an interdisciplinary approach. High seeding activity is observed in regions with oligodendrocytic‐predominant αSyn pathology in MSA.

Necrosis of a Guinea Pig Stomach after Contact with Povidone-Iodine: a Case Report [PDF]
Rodents are the most frequently used animals in surgical experimentation. It is estimated that guinea pigs in particular are the third most commonly used species in this context.

Dendritic location of dystrophic neurites in FTLD‐TDP type C with annexinopathy
The type C variant of FTLD‐TDP (TDP‐C) is defined by long dystrophic neurites that are immunopositive for both phosphorylated TDP and annexin A11 (ANXA11). Kawles et al. are the first paper to systematically show that these neurites are likely of dendritic origin.

Effects of the P2RX4 antagonist BR11595 in a guinea pig model of chronic asthma
Abstract Background and Purpose Asthma is characterized by airway hyperresponsiveness (AHR), allergic inflammation, and airway remodelling. Although recent studies have shown that asthma pathophysiology involves P2X4 receptor activation, a potential link with chronic asthma remains to be explored.

Background and purpose The action potential underpinning calcium delivery for contraction in human uterine smooth muscle (myometrium) consists of an initial spike(s) followed by a prolonged plateau of depolarization to ⁓ −25 mV. The plateau duration establishes contraction duration, especially important in labour.
