The Mind From Within: Visceral Roots of Human Cognition
The physiological activity of visceral organs, such as the heart, the lungs, and the gut, is surprisingly linked to many sophisticated mental operations, such as remembering the past, being aware of ourselves, making choices, and forging social bonds.

The gut–brain axis in irritable bowel syndrome: neuroendocrine and epigenetic pathways
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a complex disorder arising from gut–brain axis (GBA) dysfunction, where psychological distress, immune dysregulation, and gut microbiota imbalances interact to shape symptom development.

Sexual dimorphism of cardiometabolic dysfunction: Gut microbiome in the play?
Background: Sex is one of the most powerful modifiers of disease development. Clear sexual dimorphism exists in cardiometabolic health susceptibility, likely due to differences in sex steroid hormones.

Genetic ablation of Cep55 in Pten‐deficient mouse models delays tumorigenesis. Integrated multi‐omics analyses (proteomics, phosphoproteomics, and spatial transcriptomics) reveal that CEP55 regulates oncogenic signaling (RAS/ERK, PI3K/AKT), integrin/FAK‐mediated adhesion, extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling, and endocytosis.

Our study identifies an Hnf4a‐driven super‐enhancer of hepatic Ahcy that mediates the protective effects of intermittent fasting against MASLD. Disruption of the Ahcy super‐enhancer reduces Ahcy expression and exacerbates lipid accumulation. This pathway prevents aberrant promoter hypermethylation by maintaining the SAM/SAH balance, as exemplified by ...

Unraveling the gut-brain axis: the impact of steroid hormones and nutrition on Parkinson’s disease
This comprehensive review explores the intricate relationship between nutrition, the gut microbiome, steroid hormones, and Parkinson’s disease within the context of the gut-brain axis. The gut-brain axis plays a pivotal role in neurodegenerative diseases
