The Development of a Vaccine Against Meningococcus B Using Reverse Vaccinology
The discovery of vaccine antigens through whole genome sequencing (WGS) contrasts with the classical hypothesis-driven laboratory-based analysis of microbes to identify components to elicit protective immunity. This radical change in scientific direction

Pair‐wise comparison of the CellSearch and FETCH enrichment technologies for circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from metastatic breast, prostate, and small cell lung cancer patients shows an increased capture of CTCs using FETCH enrichment. The clinical implementation of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) as a predictive tool for therapy efficacy in the ...

Farmer’s Lung Disease: the Development of Antigens in Moulding Hay [PDF]
Antigens important in farmer’s lung disease (FLH antigen complex) developed in wet hay ( 2 30 yo water content) 4-6 days after baling; their development was associated with increases in pH value of the hay, in content of soluble and volatile nitrogen ...

Tumor B‐cell infiltration in platinum‐treated advanced muscle‐invasive urothelial carcinoma
Bladder tumors with higher pretreatment memory B‐cell infiltration were linked to longer survival after cisplatin chemotherapy, but not carboplatin. These tumors also showed more organized immune structures (tertiary lymphoid structures) and a shared pro‐inflammatory B‐cell‐rich community, suggesting that memory B cells may help identify patients most ...

Differences in affinity of monoclonal and naturally acquired polyclonal antibodies against Plasmodium falciparum merozoite antigens [PDF]
Malaria is a major global cause of deaths and a vaccine is urgently needed.; We have employed the P. falciparum merozoite antigens MSP2-3D7/FC27 and AMA1, used them in ELISA, and coupled them in different ways using surface plasmon resonance (SPR) and ...

Liquid biopsy‐based diagnostic evaluation of hypermethylated CpG sites for ovarian cancer diagnosis
This schematic outlines the workflow from biomarker identification to duplex MethyLight assay validation for epithelial ovarian cancer diagnosis using cfDNA‐based liquid biopsy. Initial screening of hypermethylated CpG candidates (cg02957270, cg10061138 cg00480298, COL2A1) was performed in tissue using ARMS‐PCR, COBRA, qPCR and image analysis. Selected

Unexpected complexity of the dm1 mutation revealed in the structure of three H-2D/L-related antigens [PDF]
The H-2L dm1 and H-2D dm1 MHC antigens of the B10.D2 ( H-2 dm1 ) mutant mouse strain (formerly known as M504 or H-2 da ) have been compared to the H-2L d and H-2D d antigens of the B10.D2 ( H-2 d ) mouse strain.

Glycophenotype of prostatic carcinomas.
The factors that affect the progression of prostatic carcinoma are poorly understood, but it is known that carbohydrate antigens on the tumour cell surface play a role in the transforming and metastatic processes.

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

H-2 antigenicity of Leydig cells.
Partial absorption of oligospecific reagents by the particulate membrane fraction prepared from isolated interstitial cells grown in culture (the harvested cell population contained about 80% Leydig cells)suggests that membranes of Leydig cells carry antigenic specificities H-2K (11,25) and H-2D (4) but not antigens controlled by the I region.
