Magnetic Field Alignment Relative to Multiple Tracers in the High-mass Star-forming Region RCW 36

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We use polarization data from SOFIA HAWC+ to investigate the interplay between magnetic fields and stellar feedback in altering gas dynamics within the high-mass star-forming region RCW 36, located in Vela C.

Oxygen abundance distributions in six late-type galaxies based on SALT spectra of HII regions

open access: yes, 2015
Spectra of 34 H II regions in the late-type galaxies NGC1087, NGC2967, NGC3023, NGC4030, NGC4123, and NGC4517A were observed with the South African Large Telescope (SALT). In all 34 H II regions, oxygen abundances were determined through the "counterpart"

Vacuolar transport and function of Saccharomyces cerevisiae sterol ester hydrolase Tgl1

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Tgl1, one of yeast sterol ester hydrolases, had been found on the lipid droplets where sterol esters are mainly stored. This study revealed that Tgl1 is transported into the vacuole depending on the ESCRT‐I–III complex, and that it exhibits intra‐vacuolar sterol ester hydrolase activity.

Spectroscopy of Supernova Remnants and Candidates in M31

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
With a star formation rate of order 0.4 M _⊙ yr ^−1 , M31 should have a significant population of supernova remnants (SNRs) and, in fact, 156 SNRs and SNR candidates have been suggested by J. H. Lee & M. G.

Effect of Dust Extinction on Estimating Star Formation Rate of Galaxies: Lyman Continuum Extinction

open access: yes, 2001
We re-examine the effect of Lyman continuum ($\lambda \leq 912$ \AA) extinction (LCE) by dust in H {\sc ii} regions in detail and discuss how it affects the estimation of the global star formation rate (SFR) of galaxies.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Characterizing Stellar and Gas Properties in NGC 628: Spatial Distributions, Radial Gradients, and Resolved Scaling Relations

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Building on our previous research involving multiwavelength data from UV to IR, we employ spectroscopic observations of ionized gas, as well as neutral hydrogen gas obtained from the Five-hundred Meter Aperture Spherical Telescope (FAST), to explore the ...
