Hopf Bifurcations and Hair Cells
The Hopf bifurcation is the dynamical instability which occurs in a feedback amplifier as the positive feedback is increased to the point where the system starts to oscillate spontaneously. The howl heard in a public address system when the presenter moves so the microphone gets too close to the loudspeaker is an example of increased positive feedback ...

Bottom‐Up Programming of Cell States in Cancer Organoids with Defined Synthetic Adhesion Cues
A bottom‐up biomaterial platform is developed to program transcriptomic states in pancreatic cancer organoids by tuning adhesion cues within synthetic matrices. By combining a Design of Experiments framework with multiobjective optimization, matrix compositions are identified that enrich specific cellular programs like EMT.

This study reports the fabrication of MRI‐compatible elastomeric micro‐balloons via a multi‐step bubble casting process, where the monolithic elastomeric wall is selectively stiffened for reversible and controlled inflation and elasticity, depending on the target vessels for graded occlusion of cerebral arteries.

To address the persistent challenges of vanadium dissolution and capacity fading in zinc‐ion batteries, we introduce a cation‐engineered electrolyte strategy underpinned by a data‐driven framework. This approach efficiently and reliably predicts a Na+‐Mg2+‐Zn2+ tri‐cation electrolyte with well‐balanced and sustainable advantages, enabling Zn/VOx ...

Electrospun PAN‐MXene nanofibers and yarns integrate enhanced thermal conductivity, photothermal conversion, and triboelectric energy harvesting within a flexible architecture. Interconnected MXene networks promote efficient phonon transport, while their surface chemistry strengthens tribo‐negative behavior, enabling a high power density of 432.7 mW m ...
