Halothane potentiates the alcohol-adduct induced TNF-alpha release in heart endothelial cells [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Anesthesiology, 2005
Background The possibility exists for major complications to occur when individuals are intoxicated with alcohol prior to anesthetization. Halothane is an anesthetic that can be metabolized by the liver into a highly reactive product, trifluoroacetyl ...

Differences in Halothane and Isofluran Anesthesia on Hemodynamic Status

open access: yesJurnal Ilmiah Kesehatan, 2023
Background:  Halothane and Isoflurane are two frequent inhalation agents used as maintenance anesthesia during surgery. After experiencing anesthesia, many patients experience decreased hemodynamic status as pressure blood, respiration, and pulse ...

Alterations in microglial morphology concentrate in the habitual sleeping period of the mouse

open access: yesGlia, Volume 71, Issue 2, Page 366-376, February 2023., 2023
Main Points We found regional differences of microglial morphology between the somatosensory cortex (SC), hippocampus (HC) and basal forebrain (BF). Cortical‐, but not HC‐ or BF microglial cell sizes negatively correlate with non‐REM sleep slow wave activity.

Hibiscus sabdariffa L. polyphenolic‐rich extract promotes muscle glucose uptake and inhibits intestinal glucose absorption with concomitant amelioration of Fe2+‐induced hepatic oxidative injury

open access: yesJournal of Food Biochemistry, Volume 46, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Hibiscus sabdariffa ameliorates oxidative hepatic injury via mitigating oxidative stress and facilitates muscle glucose uptake while inhibiting carbohydrate digestive enzymes and intestinal glucose absorption. Abstract In this current study, the antidiabetic effectiveness of Hibiscus sabdariffa and its protective function against Fe2+‐induced oxidative
