Halothane Metabolism in Children

open access: yesSurvey of Anesthesiology, 1990
Halothane (1% v/v inspired) was administered for 60 min to six children of mean age 74 months (range 14-119 months). Uptake of halothane was measured from the difference in the concentration in inspired and expired gas and varied from 176 to 310 mg kg-1, depending on minute ventilation.

The Association of Halothane-Induced Lipid Peroxidation with the Anaerobic Metabolism of Halothane : An In Vitro Study in Guinea Pig Liver Microsomes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
The formation of pentane and anaerobic metabolites of halothane (2-chloro-1,1,1-trifluoroethane and 2-chloro-1,1-difluoroethylene) in a mixture of guinea pig liver microsomes and halothane (2-bromo-2-chloro-1,1,1-trifluoroethane) in the presence of NADPH

Effects of Halothane On Mucociliary Activity In-Vivo

open access: yes, 1995
The effect of halothane on mucociliary activity in the rabbit maxillary sinus in vivo was recorded photoelectrically. Administration of halothane (1%, 2% or 4%) into the maxillary sinus induced a temporary acceleration of mucociliary activity.

Halothane anesthesia causes active flow-independent pulmonary vasoconstriction

open access: yes, 1990
We utilized multipoint pulmonary vascular pressure-flow (P/Q) plots to investigate the effects of halothane anesthesia on the pulmonary circulation. Our first objective was to assess the extent to which the P/Q relationship measured in conscious dogs is
