Genomic Variants Associated With Oocyte and Embryo Production in Dairy Gir Cattle
ABSTRACT The use of in vitro fertilization protocols associated with genomic selection increases genetic gain in dairy cattle. The aims of this study were to uncover genetic variants in a specific interval on BTA7 and to investigate their effects on the number of oocytes and embryos in dairy Gir.

Recently another type of genetic polymorphism, called copy number variation (CNV), has been discovered in the whole genome variation. SNP chips have also been used for CNVs analysis, making them a useful analytical tool. In this study, we evaluated CNVs and identified the relationship between CNV regions (CNVRs) in Hanwoo (n=1500) using the Illumina ...

ABSTRACT In order to investigate the applicability and efficiency of genomic selection for growth and carcass traits in Nordic beef cattle, single‐step genomic BLUP (ssGBLUP) was applied in 4321 Charolais and 4532 Hereford animals with information on approximately 43,000 SNPs each.

Advances in next generation sequencing (NGS) technologies have enabled population-level studies for many animals to unravel the relationships between genotypic differences and traits of specific populations. The objective of this study was to perform evolutionary analysis of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) in genes of Korean native cattle Hanwoo ...

A Survey on Hanwoo Calf Management Prior to Weaning [PDF]

Effects of Carcass Traits on Auction Price in Hanwoo [PDF]
The aim of this study was to estimate the effect of sex, slaughtered season and year on carcass traits, and the contribution of carcass traits to auction and total prices. The data used in this study were the carcass grade of Hanwoo (4,231 heads) slaughtered from 2008 to 2010.
