Interface Compensation for Power Hardware-in-the-Loop
2018 IEEE 27th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE), 2018Power Hardware-in-the-Loop (PHIL) is a real-time system testing and validation technique particularly attractive for large scale power systems. The key challenge is achieving a transparent power interface between the simulation and the physical Item-under- Test (Iu‘I’), Signal exchange between the systems is defined by the interface algorithm (IA), and

On hardware-in-the-loop simulation
Proceedings of the 44th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2006Hardware-in-the-loop simulation is a well established technique used in design and evaluation of control systems. The purpose of this paper is twofold. First it aims to identify research questions related to the design of hardware-in-the-loop simulation.

Quantifying the Accuracy of Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulations
2007 American Control Conference, 2007In this paper we present a methodology for quantifying the accuracy of hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) simulators. HWIL simulation refers to the process of interfacing a subset of system hardware to a controller containing a numerical model of the rest of the system.

Hardware-In-The-Loop Simulation for ABS
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1998<div class="htmlview paragraph">The prevalence of microprocessor-based controllers in automotive systems has greatly increased the need for tools which can be used to validate and test control systems over their full range of operation. The objective of this paper is to develop a real time simulator of an anti-lock brake system and the ...

Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation
2012This chapter describes the application of real-time, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation for hydropower plant. This mode of simulation is a powerful tool for upgrading high-value plant that carries a severe financial penalty for loss of service. The concept and merits of HIL simulation and the distinctive features of real-time systems are reviewed ...

Hardware-in-the-loop simulation of vascular cannula interaction *
2023 45th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine & Biology Society (EMBC), 2023Traditionally, the functional development, testing and verification of higher level automation, control and safety functions in extracorporeal circulations systems relies very much on the conduction of animal experiments. This especially applies to functions requiring interaction with the patients physiology. Besides ethical aspects, animal experiments

A hardware-in-the-loop SCADA testbed
2015 North American Power Symposium (NAPS), 2015USF Smart Grid Power System Lab (SPS) has developed an hardware-in-loop (HIL) SCADA testbed. This paper describes several communication/control architectures of the testbed with different hardware/software combinations. This testbed will be used to test energy management schemes, power grid cyber attack and mitigation strategies.

Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation
2015Hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL or HIL) simulation is a real-time technique that is used in the development and test of complex process systems. HIL simulation provides an effective platform by adding the complexity of the system under control to the test platform. HIL simulations are performed to provide a more robust design with the typical configuration.

Common hardware-in-the-loop development
SPIE Proceedings, 2009An approach to streamline the Hardware-In-the-Loop (HWIL) simulation development process is under evaluation. This Common HWIL technique will attempt to provide a more flexible, scalable system. The overall goal of the Common HWIL system will be to reduce cost by minimizing redundant development, operational labor and equipment expense.
