Harmaline interactions with yeast invertase.

open access: yesIndian journal of biochemistry & biophysics, 1998
The effect of harmaline, a plant alkaloid has been studied on yeast invertase activity in the absence and presence of 50mM Na+ as a function of pH. Harmaline (1-3 mM) inhibited the invertase activity at pH 5.2, 6.8 and 8 both in the absence (44-92%) and (22-85%) of Na+ ions.

Bio-elicitation of β-carboline alkaloids in Cell Suspension Culture of Peganum harmala L.

open access: yesJournal of Medicinal Plants, 2015
Background: Sustainable and commercial production of secondary metabolites is a critical issue when dealing with its clinical application. Efforts are still being made to look for biotic or abiotic elicitors with more efficient and universal effects on ...

Pattern of degeneration of the rat inferior olivary complex after the early postnatal axotomy of the olivocerebellar projection [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
Neuronal death of inferior olivary neurons after early axotomy of the olivocerebellar tract was studied in newborn (Pl) hemicerebellectomized rats during the first six days after lesion. The degeneration of the inferior olive showed a topographic pattem
