Loss of E3 Ubiquitin Ligase RINES via CpG Methylation Relieves Suppression of STAT3 and MYC, Facilitating Multiple Tumorigeneses

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Dysregulated protein modifications drive tumorigenesis. RINES, an E3 ubiquitin ligase, represses tumor cell proliferation and metastasis by facilitating RING domain‐dependent, ubiquitin–proteasome‐mediated degradation of STAT3 and MYC, which consequently restrains cancer stemness and oncogenic progression.

Design and synthesis of novel oridonin analogues as potent anticancer agents

open access: yesJournal of Enzyme Inhibition and Medicinal Chemistry, 2018
To identify anticancer agents with higher potency and lower toxicity, a series of oridonin derivatives with substituted benzene moieties at the C17 position were designed, synthesised, and evaluated for their antiproliferative properties.

PKR regulation by 5-FU treatment in HCT116 p53+/+ and HCT116 p53−/− cells.

open access: yes, 2013
(A) HCT116 p53+/+, HCT116 p53−/− cells were mock-treated, treated with 500 IU/ml of human IFNα during 16 hours, or treated with 10 µM of 5-FU during 4, 8, 16 and 24 hours.

Selenium Nanoparticles Selectively Target KRAS G13D to Inhibit Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The mechanisms of SeNPs therapy in cancer treatment, encompass three parallel actions: (1) seleno‐amino acids, key metabolites, upregulate GPX2 expression, thereby inhibiting tumor metastasis via the GPX2‐HIF1α‐VEGF signaling pathway; (2) selenite (SeO32−), an inorganic metabolite, forms hydrogen bonds with amino acid residues 13–17 of the KRAS G13D ...

Ginsenoside Rh2 inhibiting HCT116 colon cancer cell proliferation through blocking PDZ-binding kinase/T-LAK cell-originated protein kinase

open access: yesJournal of Ginseng Research, 2016
Background: Ginsenoside Rh2 (GRh2) is the main bioactive component in American ginseng, a commonly used herb, and its antitumor activity had been studied in previous studies.

Single‐Cell RNA Editing Identifies T Cell ADAR1 as a Key Regulator of Immune Exhaustion and Anti‐PD‐1 Resistance in Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Single‐cell RNA editing analysis identifies ADAR1 as a regulator of dysfunctional T cell states in colorectal cancer. Elevated ADAR1 activity promotes T cell exhaustion and impairs antitumor immunity partly through TGF‐β‐SMAD signaling, contributing to anti‐PD‐1 resistance and highlighting T cell ADAR1 as a potential therapeutic target and biomarker ...

ATR inhibition enhances radiosensitivity in p53-deficient colorectal cancer cells

open access: yesDiscover Oncology
Radiosensitizers that improve tumor-cell responses to radiation without increasing normal-tissue toxicity are needed in colorectal cancer (CRC).

CALB2 is a Mechanoresistance Gene in Metastatic Prostate Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Prostate cancer cell lines of differing origins were cultured over many passages while being subjected to semi‐lethal levels of fluid shear stress, representing the harsh mechanical environment these cells are subjected to in the circulation during the process of distant metastasis.
