Aptamer‐Targeted PrPC Drives Colorectal Cancer Metastasis via a LYN‐STAT3 Complex and Enables Liquid Biopsy Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The aptamer WHY‐3E identifies PrPC as a CRC driver. Stabilized by USP18, endocytosed PrPC forms a LYN/STAT3 complex, upregulating MSN transcription to promote metastasis. Crucially, WHY‐3E sensitively detects PrPC‐positive circulating exosomes, establishing a robust theoretical foundation for non‐invasive clinical diagnostics.

Gfi-1 modulates HMGB1-Mediated autophagy to overcome oxaliplatin resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesHeliyon
Background: Resistance to oxaliplatin (L-OHP) is a major barrier in the treatment of colorectal cancer (CRC). Autophagy is the main cause of L-OHP tolerance in CRC cells.

Mitochondrial Carrier SLC25A13 Drives Ferroptosis Resistance and Immune Evasion via a STAT3–IFI6 Circuit in Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SLC25A13 is identified as an immunometabolic driver of triple‐negative breast cancer that sustains ferroptosis resistance and immune evasion through a STAT3–IFI6 circuit. Pharmacologic degradation of SLC25A13 restores ferroptosis sensitivity and enhances anti‐PD‐1 efficacy, highlighting a strategy to convert immune‐cold tumors into immunotherapy ...

Hybrid liposomes showing enhanced accumulation in tumors as theranostic agents in the orthotopic graft model mouse of colorectal cancer

open access: yesDrug Delivery, 2018
Hybrid liposomes (HLs) can be prepared by simply sonicating a mixture of vesicular and micellar molecules in a buffer solution. This study aimed to elucidate the therapeutic effects and ability of HLs to detect (diagnosis) cancer in an orthotopic graft ...

Antichemosensitizing effect of resveratrol in cotreatment with oxaliplatin in HCT116 colon cancer cell [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of Surgical Treatment and Research, 2014
Although oxaliplatin is one of the most widely used chemotherapeutic agents for the treatment of advanced stages of colorectal cancers in clinic, cancer cells often develop oxaliplatin drug resistance. Thus, overcoming oxaliplatin drug resistance is a major issue in the successful treatment for advanced stages of colorectal malignancy.

Circulating Amino Acid Network Remodeling Reveals Systemic Metabolic Reprogramming Predictive of Colorectal Cancer Recurrence and Metastasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Blood‐based amino acid patterns measured by 19F NMR reveal hidden metabolic changes in colorectal cancer. By analyzing how these amino acids interact as a network, machine learning models identify patients at higher risk of recurrence and metastasis.

Advanced glycation end products enhance invasion and migration of colon cancer HCT116 cells in hypoxic microenvironment

open access: yesDi-san junyi daxue xuebao, 2019
Objective To investigate the effects of advanced glycation end products (AGEs) on the proliferation, invasion, migration and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) of colon cancer HCT116 cells in hypoxic microenvironment.

Overexpression of p67phox in response to fluoropyrimidines in HCT116 cells

open access: yes, 2016
Objectives: Cancer cells require reactive oxygen species (ROS) in order to keep up with growth rate. The accumulation of ROS induced by anticancer drugs can promote cell death through oxidative damage. A potential source of ROS is the family of NADPH oxidase (NOX) enzyme that produces ROS as their sole function.

p300 Degradation by the p53‐SIAH1 Axis Relieves TBK1 Acetylation to Enhance Innate Antiviral Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies p300 as the acetyltransferase that acetylates TBK1 and inhibits its phosphorylation. Activation of the p53‐SIAH1 axis by immune response downregulates p300 expression to sustain innate antiviral immunity. Conditional p300 knockout in alveolar epithelial cells in vivo promotes antiviral responses and suppresses virus replication ...

Data showing the circumvention of oxaliplatin resistance by vatalanib in colon cancer

open access: yesData in Brief, 2016
We have recently reported that vatalanib, an orally active small molecule multi-tyrosine kinase inhibitor (Hess-Stumpp et al., 2005 [1]), can sensitize multidrug resistant (MDR) colon cancer cells to chemotherapy under hypoxia by inhibiting two MDR ...
