Excited states of Li6 observed through He4(d, d)He4
Nuclear Physics, 1964Angular distributions (18° ≦ θ_(c.m.) ≦156 °) for the elastic scattering of deuterons from He4 have been obtained at 500 keV intervals for bombarding energies between 2.9 and 11.5 MeV. A phase shift analysis of these data has been made yielding confirming evidence for the existence of D wave, J^π = 2^+ and 1^+ levels at excitation energies of 4.9 and 6.

Clinical value of O-RADS combined with serum CA125 and HE4 for the diagnosis of ovarian tumours
Acta Radiologica, 2022Background Ovarian tumors (OTs) are common gynecological tumors in women. It is very important to correctly distinguish benign and malignant OTs. Purpose To assess the diagnostic performance of the American College of Radiology (ACR) Ovarian-Adnexal ...

Thermodynamics of He3 and He4 Solutions above the λ Temperature of Pure He4
The Physics of Fluids, 1963The thermodynamic properties of He3 and He4 solutions in the temperature range 2.2 °K to 2.6 °K have been investigated on the basis of some of the classical theories of nonideal solutions. Calculations have also been made of the excess chemical potentials from the vapor pressure data using some general thermodynamical considerations.

Isotopic purification of He4 is conventionally accomplished by 'filtration' through a superleak which may, for example, be of compressed rouge or of Vicor glass. An intrinsic limitation of this procedure is that a small fraction of the He3 isotopic impurities passes through along with the superfluid He4, the exact proportion depending on the pore size ...

The hypernucleus ΛLi8 and the decay process ΛLi8 → π− + He4 + He4
Nuclear Physics, 1963Abstract The selection rules for the decay sequence Λ Li 8 → π − + Be 8∗ , Be 8∗ → He 4 + He 4 are discussed and estimates are made of the transition rates and the angular distributions as function of the ΛLi8 spin J using intermediate coupling nuclear wave-functions.

Vortex nucleation by negative ions in He4-rich HE3HE4 mixtures
Physica B+C, 1981Abstract At high pressures at low temperatures the acceleration of a negative ion in He4, placed in an electric field, can be limited by vortex-ring nucleation. There exists a Landau criterion for calculating the critical velocity for vortex ring production. I calculate the dependence of the critical velocity on He3 concentration.

The existence of an excited state at 22.5 Mev in /sup 4/He was indicated by observing a group of inelastically scattered protons from a gas target of /sup 4/He bombarded by 55-Mev protons. (R.E.U.)

The density of He4 under its own vapor pressure has been measured between 1.2°K and 4.4°K by a direct method. The results are given in smoothed tabular form and are compared with the results of previous measurements. An attempt has been made to derive a usable value for the critical density from the liquid and vapor densities at lower temperatures.
