Risk Assessment and Health Hazard Appraisal [PDF]

open access: yesAnnual Review of Public Health, 1981
The notion that it is wise to identify and act upon problems at an early stage is hardly novel. It is enshrined in our folk wisdom ("an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure"), and it has been in the medical literature for at least 120 years. Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
