The roles of Arabidopsis HSFA2, HSFA4a, and HSFA7a in the heat shock response and cytosolic protein response

open access: yesBotanical Studies, 2018
Previously, we found that Arabidopsis plants transformed with a construct containing the promoter of Oshsp17.3 from rice fused to the β-glucuronidase gene (GUS), Oshsp17.3Pro::GUS (Oshsp17.3p), showed a GUS signal after heat shock (HS) or azetidine-2 ...

Identification of a Tissue-Selective Heat Shock Response Regulatory Network

open access: yesPLoS Genetics, 2013
The heat shock response (HSR) is essential to survive acute proteotoxic stress and has been studied extensively in unicellular organisms and tissue culture cells, but to a lesser extent in intact metazoan animals. To identify the regulatory pathways that

Engineering a Sonotherapeutic RBC Membrane‐Derived Nanoparticle Platform for the Treatment of Liver Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Herein, an RBC membrane‐derived nanoparticle (CMN‐ICG) is engineered to efficiently deliver a sonosensitizing agent, indocyanine green (ICG), for sonotherapy of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). CMN‐ICG exhibits excellent cytocompatibility, significantly enhances hepatocyte uptake, and produces excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS) upon ultrasound ...

Trap‐Assisted Transport and Neuromorphic Plasticity in Lead‐Free 2D Perovskites PEA2SnI4

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An artificial retina built from lead‐free layered perovskite (PEA)2SnI4 converts light input into a persistent photocurrent and sums successive flashes over time. Micro/nanocrystals integrated on electrodes act as synapse‐like pixels that perform temporal integration directly in hardware. This in‐sensor preprocessing merges detection and computation on

MAGTWIST: A Magnetically‐Driven Rotary Actuator Using a Traveling‐Wave With Integrated Stiffness Tunability

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MAGTWIST: A compact magnetic rotary actuator, enabling smooth, stepless rotation, and on‐demand locking. Inspired by peristalsis, a soft polymer belt generates a traveling‐wave, enabling 270° rotation when heated. Cooling stiffens the belt, locking it in position and enabling it to withstand high loads.

Drug‐Free Thrombolysis Mediated by Physically Activated Micro/Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Overview of particle‐mediated thrombolytic effects (thermal, mechanical, and chemical) and their activating physical stimuli (light, ultrasound, and magnetic field) in drug‐free thrombolysis. ABSTRACT Thrombus‐associated disorders rank among the world's leading causes of death, with ischemic heart disease and stroke as the main contributors.

Heat Shock Proteins: Dynamic Biomolecules to Counter Plant Biotic and Abiotic Stresses

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences, 2019
Due to the present scenario of climate change, plants have to evolve strategies to survive and perform under a plethora of biotic and abiotic stresses, which restrict plant productivity. Maintenance of plant protein functional conformation and preventing
