Clinical analysis reveals significant dysregulation of FGFRL1 in esophageal cancer (EC) patients. RNAi‐coupled next‐generation sequencing (NGS) and in vitro study reveal FGFRL1‐mediated EC progression via EMT, PI3K/Akt, and Notch pathways. Functional assays confirm its role in tumor growth, migration, and invasion.

Impact of Elevated Wall Temperatures on Nitrate Salt Stability in Thermal Energy Storage
Energy storage is vital for on-demand electricity generation from renewable sources like wind and solar. Besides employing batteries, retrofitting conventional fossil-fired power plants with thermal energy storage might present a highly cost-effective ...

On the organization and thermal behavior of functional groups on Ti3C2 MXene surfaces in vacuum
The two-dimensional (2D) MXene Ti3C2Tx is functionalized by surface groups (Tx) that determine its surface properties for, e.g. electrochemical applications.

Determination of the useful working coefficient (UWC) of the heating system
Improving the efficiency of the heating system of premises depends on the correct choice of heating system joists, their use. In the heating system, the consumption of the heat transmitter, the speed of the flow, the heat capacity, the heat transfer of ...

The inhibition of mitochondrial dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) impairs syncytialization and induces cellular senescence via mitochondrial and endoplasmic reticulum stress in human trophoblast stem cells, elevating sFlt1/PlGF levels, a hallmark of placental dysfunction in hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.

Meta‐analysis fails to show any correlation between protein abundance and ubiquitination changes
We analyzed over 50 published proteomics datasets to explore the relationship between protein levels and ubiquitination changes across multiple experimental conditions and biological systems. Although ubiquitination is often associated with protein degradation, our analysis shows that changes in ubiquitination do not globally correlate with changes in ...

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Erythropoietin administration suppresses hepatic soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH) expression, leading to increased CYP‐derived epoxides. This is associated with a shift in hepatic macrophage polarization characterized by reduced M1 markers and increased M2 markers, along with reduced hepatic inflammation, suppressed hepatic lipogenesis, and attenuated ...
