Histone deacetylase inhibition sensitizes osteosarcoma to heavy ion radiotherapy. [PDF]

open access: yesRadiat Oncol, 2015
Minimal improvements in treatment or survival of patients with osteosarcoma have been achieved during the last three decades. Especially in the case of incomplete tumor resection, prognosis remains poor. Heavy ion radiotherapy (HIT) and modern anticancer drugs like histone deacetylase inhibitors (HDACi) have shown promising effects in osteosarcoma in ...

Early prediction of tumor response to carbon ion radiotherapy via 18F-FMISO PET/CT in patients with locally advanced non-small-cell lung cancer [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology
BackgroundHypoxia increases resistance to carbon ion radiotherapy (CIRT) in locally advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (LA-NSCLC, stage II-III). This study aimed to develop a hypoxia-related model based on 18F-fluoromisonidazole (FMISO) positron ...

Estimate of Heavy Ion Radiotherapy Candidates in Gunma Prefecture: 2. Annual Cancer Incidence in Gunma Prefecture and Projected Number of Heavy Ion Radiotherapy Candidates

open access: yesKitakanto Medical Journal, 2005

MiR-526b-3p enhances sensitivity of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma cells to radiotherapy via suppressing exosomal LAMP3-mediated autophagy

open access: yesAutoimmunity, 2023
Lysosomal associated membrane protein 3 (LAMP3) has been reported to be a tumour promoter in multiple cancer types by modulating tumour cell autophagy. However, the potential mechanism of LAMP3 in radio-resistance of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma
