Sodium Current Measurements in HEK293 Cells
This protocol is used to measure sodium currents from heterologously transfected cells lines, such as HEK293 cells. Standard whole cell patch clamp technique is used to assess ion channel function. This protocol has been used to study cardiac type Nav1.5

Antioxidant Efficacy of Esculetin against Tert-Butyl Hydroperoxide-Induced Oxidative Stress in HEK293 Cells [PDF]
Esculetin is an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compound derived from coumarin. Oxidative stress can cause overproduction of reactive oxygen species (ROS), which can lead to the development of chronic kidney failure.

Endogenous calcium channels in human embryonic kidney (HEK293) cells [PDF]
We have identified endogenous calcium channel currents in HEK293 cells. Whole cell endogenous currents (ISr‐HEK) were studied in single HEK293 cells with 10 mM strontium as the charge carrier by the patch clamp technique. The kinetic properties and pharmacological features of ISr‐HEK were characterized and compared with the properties of a ...

Human Mas-related G protein-coupled receptors-X1 induce chemokine receptor 2 expression in rat dorsal root ganglia neurons and release of chemokine ligand 2 from the human LAD-2 mast cell line [PDF]
Primate-specific Mas-related G protein-coupled receptors-X1 (MRGPR-X1) are highly enriched in dorsal root ganglia (DRG) neurons and induce acute pain. Herein, we analyzed effects of MRGPR-X1 on serum response factors (SRF) or nuclear factors of activated
