Pvr expression regulators in equilibrium signal control and maintenance of Drosophila blood progenitors. [PDF]
Blood progenitors within the lymph gland, a larval organ that supports hematopoiesis in Drosophila melanogaster, are maintained by integrating signals emanating from niche-like cells and those from differentiating blood cells.

Normal and malignant hematopoiesis [PDF]
In summary, our knowledge on the physiology of hematopoiesis and the immune system has provided much specific information of direct clinical relevance. The cloning of hematopoietic growth factors or hormones has produced compounds (such as erythropoietin or G-CSF) that help to overcome side effects of chemotherapy, and provide convenient techniques to ...

This study investigated how PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) indirectly affects multiple myeloma (MM) cell metabolism and viability. Culturing MM cells in conditioned medium from PYCR1‐silenced BMSCs impaired oxidative phosphorylation and increased sensitivity to bortezomib.

Vascular remodeling of the mouse yolk sac requires hemodynamic force [PDF]
The embryonic heart and vessels are dynamic and form and remodel while functional. Much has been learned about the genetic mechanisms underlying the development of the cardiovascular system, but we are just beginning to understand how changes in heart ...

Inhibition of CDK9 enhances AML cell death induced by combined venetoclax and azacitidine
The CDK9 inhibitor AZD4573 downregulates c‐MYC and MCL‐1 to induce death of cytarabine (AraC)‐resistant AML cells. This enhances VEN + AZA‐induced cell death significantly more than any combination of two of the three drugs in AraC‐resistant AML cells.

The Tao of Hematopoietic Stem Cells: Toward a Unified Theory of Tissue Regeneration
Hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) are the best studied of the tissue-specific stem cells. By definition, HSCs have long been regarded as restricted to formation of blood cells of both the lymphoid and myeloid lineages.

The miR-223 host non-coding transcript linc-223 induces IRF4 expression in acute myeloid leukemia by acting as a competing endogenous RNA [PDF]
Alterations in genetic programs required for terminal myeloid differentiation and aberrant proliferation characterize acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cells.

Matrix: a complex amalgam of structures and functions in tumor microenvironment
The matrix is a dynamic, intricate three‐dimensional mesh of biomolecules with both structural and functional properties. This review deals with the complexity of this ‘molecular amalgam’ in the tumor microenvironment and highlights its importance in the maintenance and evolution of tumors by describing certain matrix biomolecules, such as ...

Case report of the extramedullary hematopoiesis presented as a hypervascular intracranial mass
Thalassemia is a hematologic disorder that causes ineffective hematopoiesis and is related to severe anemia, iron overload, extramedullary hematopoiesis, and hepatomegaly. Hepatomegaly is related to significant extramedullary hematopoiesis.

The unbearable lightness of bone marrow homeostasis [PDF]
The anatomical and functional dimensions of bone marrow topography have been at the forefront of modern bone and immunological research for many years and remain a source of complexity and perplexity due to the multitude of microhabitats within this ...
