Functional regulatory roles of HNF1B in promoting cell proliferation, migration, invasion and fate decision of hepatocellular carcinoma [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Cancer
Background Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a common malignant tumor worldwide, with complex pathogenesis and poor clinical prognosis. It was shown that hepatocyte nuclear factor 1β (HNF1B) is strongly expressed in hepatocyte and involved in liver ...

Mutations in the Hepatocyte Nuclear Factor 1 Alpha (HNF1A), 4 Alpha (HNF4A) and 1 Beta (HNF1B) in Maturity-Onset Diabetes of the Young in Croatia

open access: closed, 2019
Introduction: Maturity-onset diabetes of the young (MODY) is a monogenic form of diabetes that is characterized by an early onset (usually before 25 years), autosomal dominant mode of inheritance and a primary defect in pancreatic β-cell function. MODY is a common form of monogenic diabetes and it may account for 1% to 2% of all diabetes cases in ...

Function annotation of hepatic retinoid x receptor α based on genome-wide DNA binding and transcriptome profiling. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
BackgroundRetinoid x receptor α (RXRα) is abundantly expressed in the liver and is essential for the function of other nuclear receptors. Using chromatin immunoprecipitation sequencing and mRNA profiling data generated from wild type and RXRα-null mouse ...

Hepatocyte nuclear factor 1β controls nephron tubular development [PDF]

open access: yesDevelopment, 2013
Nephron morphogenesis is a complex process that generates blood-filtration units (glomeruli) connected to extremely long and patterned tubular structures. Hepatocyte nuclear factor 1β (HNF1β) is a divergent homeobox transcription factor that is expressed in kidney from the first steps of nephrogenesis.

Human hepatocyte nuclear factor-1β (HNF1B) 1968A/G polymorphism [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Human Genetics, 2000
We found a novel A-->G change at nucleotide 1968 within the 3'-untranslated region of the HNF1B gene encoding the hepatocyte nuclear factor-1 beta. The HNF1B 1968A/G polymorphism could be detected by digestion with endonuclease MspI. The frequency of the HNF1B 1968G allele was 0.060 in Caucasians and 0.129 in Canadian Oji-Cree.

Serum transferrin as a biomarker of hepatocyte nuclear factor 4 alpha activity and hepatocyte function in liver diseases

open access: yesBMC Medicine, 2021
Background Serum transferrin levels represent an independent predictor of mortality in patients with liver failure. Hepatocyte nuclear factor 4 alpha (HNF4α) is a master regulator of hepatocyte functions.

Failure to Thrive in a Middle-Aged Female: A Case of Congenital Incomplete Pancreas From a Rare Genetic Defect

open access: yesJournal of Investigative Medicine High Impact Case Reports, 2023
Hepatocyte nuclear factor-1 beta (HNF1B) gene is predominantly expressed in the liver, kidney, lung, genitourinary tract, and pancreas. It is an important transcription factor that regulates pancreas development.
