Landscape of meiotic crossovers in Hericium erinaceus

Microbiological Research, 2021
Meiotic crossover shows marked interspecific and intraspecific variation, and knowledge about the molecular mechanism of crossover variation remains limited. Herein, we described the genome-wide scanning of crossover in one mushroom-forming fungus Hericium erinaceus.

Neurotrophic isoindolinones from the fruiting bodies of Hericium erinaceus

Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2021
Four compounds, hericerin (1), isohericerinol A (2), N-de-phenylethyl isohericerin (3) and corallocin A (4) were isolated from the fruiting bodies of Hericium erinaceus, a lion's mane mushroom (Hericiaceae). Among them, isohericerinol A (2) was newly reported in nature. Further investigation of the neurotrophic effect of isolated compounds demonstrated

Hericium erinaceus: an edible mushroom with medicinal values

Journal of Complementary and Integrative Medicine, 2013
Mushrooms are considered as nutritionally functional foods and source of physiologically beneficial medicines. Hericium erinaceus, also known as Lion's Mane Mushroom or Hedgehog Mushroom, is an edible fungus, which has a long history of usage in traditional Chinese medicine. This mushroom is rich in some physiologically important components, especially

Habitat preferences of Hericium erinaceus in Slovakia

Fungal Ecology, 2017
Distribution patterns, ecology and habitats of Hericium erinaceus in Slovakia are presented, together with an indication of its population size and dynamics as driven by the type of substratum the fungus feeds on. Basidiomata have been recorded both on living and dead trees, predominantly on oaks (Quercus spp.) but also on European beech (Fagus ...

Evaluation of in vivo antioxidant activity of Hericium erinaceus polysaccharides

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2013
Hericium erinaceus polysaccharide (HEP) is a traditional Chinese medicine. In the present study, chemical composition and antioxidant activity of HEP was investigated. HPLC analysis showed that the HEP was composed of xylose (7.8%), ribose (2.7%), glucose (68.4%), arabinose (11.3%), galactose (2.5%) and mannose (5.2%).

Immunomodulatory effects of hydroxyethylated Hericium erinaceus polysaccharide on macrophages RAW264.7

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2017
Hericium erinaceus polysaccharide (HEP) has been shown to possess a variety of biological activities. In present study, HEP was successfully modified to obtain its hydroxyethylated derivative hHEP. Its potential immunomodulatory activities on RAW264.7 macrophages were investigated.

Erinaceolactones A to C, from the Culture Broth of Hericium erinaceus

Journal of Natural Products, 2014
Three novel compounds, erinaceolactones A to C (1-3), and a known compound (4) were isolated from the culture broth of Hericium erinaceus. The planar structures of 1-3 were determined by the interpretation of spectroscopic data. The absolute configuration of 3 was determined by X-ray crystallography.

[Immunomodulatory function of polysaccharide of Hericium erinaceus].

Zhongguo Zhong xi yi jie he za zhi Zhongguo Zhongxiyi jiehe zazhi = Chinese journal of integrated traditional and Western medicine, 1994
Hericium erinaceus is a Chinese herbal medicine. The Apollo oral liquid contains polysaccharide of H. erinaceus (PHE). The effects of PHE on proliferation of mice T and B lymphocytes were studied. Results showed that (1) 3-fold proliferation of thymocytes was demonstrated when PHE were administrated with Con A than Con A alone. Such effect on thymocyte
