Implementation of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and Real-Time PCR in quick identification of bovine herpesvirus 1 [PDF]
Examinations were performed on 65 samples of nasal smeas taken from calves and young cows with clinical symptoms of respiratory infection to determine the presence of the bovine herpes virus 1 using parallel implementation of molecular and standard ...

In vitro antiviral activity of three ellagitannins - castalagin, vescalagin and grandinin was investigated against replication of three of the most common herpes viruses infecting animals, namely bovine herpesvirus-1 (BoHV-1), suid alphaherpesvirus-1 ...

Molecular, genetic, virological, and biochemical analysis in combination with global proteome and phosphoproteome profiling and functional assays were applied to study the role of PR130 in the context of HSV‐1 replication. The observations reveal that host‐intrinsic mechanisms regulate HSV‐1 replication and highlight PR130 as a susceptibility factor of

Neutralizing Antibodies to Bovine Herpesvirus 1 in Reindeer
Serum samples from cattle and reindeer in Lapland were examined for neutralizing antibodies to the IBR/IPV virus. All the bovine sera tested were negative. The reindeer sera were tested using 2 different virus neutralization methods differing in the serum-virus incubation time prior to inoculation into tissue culture tubes. 12.6 % of the samples tested

Pseudorabies virus (PRV), an emerging zoonotic α‐herpesvirus, causes life‐threatening human encephalitis. We identified a broad‐spectrum neutralizing antibody 6F7 targeting PRV gD. It blocks gD‐Nectin‐1 binding and membrane fusion, inhibiting replication across all PRV variants, representing a promising candidate for anti‐PRV therapy.

Proteins Specified by bovine herpesvirus 1 (infectious bovine rhinotracheitis virus) [PDF]
An electrophoretic analysis of radioactively labeled, purified, "empty" and DNA-containing infectious bovine rhinotracheitis virions revealed the presence of 25 to 33 structural (virion) polypeptides. A total of 11 of these polypeptides could be labeled with [3H]glucosamine and were identified as glycoproteins.

Samples of 114 bovine fetuses and 10 calves, which dead in perinatal period, were examined for detection of DNA. The most common detected agent was Brucella spp. in 17 samples (13.7%) followed by Leptospira spp. in 4 cases (3.2%),bovine herpesvirus (BHV)

Bovine herpesvirus 1 (BoHV-1), an important bovine pathogen, establishes lifelong latency in sensory neurons. Reactivation from latency is consistently induced by the synthetic corticosteroid dexamethasone. We predict that increased corticosteroid levels

This study identifies p300 as the acetyltransferase that acetylates TBK1 and inhibits its phosphorylation. Activation of the p53‐SIAH1 axis by immune response downregulates p300 expression to sustain innate antiviral immunity. Conditional p300 knockout in alveolar epithelial cells in vivo promotes antiviral responses and suppresses virus replication ...

Cytotoxic T-lymphocytes play an important role in the protection against viral infections, which they detect through the recognition of virus-derived peptides, presented in the context of MHC class I molecules at the surface of the infected cell.
