Data_Sheet_2_Immunological Study of Reconstructed Common Ancestral Sequence of Adenovirus Hexon Protein.DOCX

open access: yes, 2021
Aim: To reconstruct the ancestral sequence of human adenoviral hexon protein by combining sequence variations and structural information. And to provide a candidate hexon protein for developing new adenoviral vector capable of escaping the pre-existing ...

First Isolation and Identification of Homologous Recombination Events of Porcine Adenovirus from Wild Boar

open access: yesViruses, 2022
Porcine adenoviruses (PAdVs) are distributed in pig populations and classified into five immunologically distinct serotypes (PAdV-1 to 5). In this study, a PAdV was isolated from a fecal sample of wild boar for the first time.

Stable expression of shRNA for the control of recombinant adenovirus replication

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research, 2023
Preventing the replication of adenovirus could have practical uses, such as controlling infection with wild-type virus or in applications involving recombinant vectors.

Adenovirus hexon protein enhances nuclear delivery and increases transgene expression of polyethylenimine/plasmid DNA vectors

open access: yes, 2016
Inefficient nuclear delivery restricts transgene expression using polyelectrolyte DNA vectors. To increase transfer from the cytoplasm to the nucleus, we have covalently linked adenovirus hexon protein to polyethylenimine (PEI, 800 kDa).

Worldwide increased prevalence of human adenovirus type 3 (HAdV-3) respiratory infections is well correlated with heterogeneous hypervariable regions (HVRs) of hexon. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2018
Human adenovirus type 3 (HAdV-3) respiratory infections occurs worldwide in both children and adults, leading to severe morbidity and mortality, particularly in the paediatric age group and especially in neonates.

Computational analysis of the hexon gene.

open access: yes, 2013
(A) SimPlot analysis of the HAdV-D59 hexon coding sequence. L1 and L2 correspond to loops 1 and 2 of the hexon gene, which comprise the determinant of virus serum neutralization. (B) Phylogenetic analysis of the hexon L1 sequences in species HAdV-D.

The Adenovirus Type 40 Hexon: Sequence, Predicted Structure and Relationship to Other Adenovirus Hexons

open access: yesJournal of General Virology, 1989
The gene encoding the major capsid protein (hexon) of human adenovirus type 40 (Ad40) has been isolated and sequenced. Comparison of the predicted amino acid sequence of the Ad40 hexon with the corresponding polypeptide of the human enteric adenovirus, Ad41, reveals an overall identity of 88%.
