iFALCON: A neural architecture for hierarchical planning

open access: yesNeurocomputing, 2012
Hierarchical planning is an approach of planning by composing and executing hierarchically arranged predefined plans on the fly to solve some problems. This approach commonly relies on a domain expert providing all semantic and structural knowledge. One challenge is how the system deals with incomplete ill-defined knowledge while the solution can be ...

Hierarchical task and motion planning in the now [PDF]

open access: yes2011 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 2011
In this paper we outline an approach to the integration of task planning and motion planning that has the following key properties: It is aggressively hierarchical; it makes choices and commits to them in a top-down fashion in an attempt to limit the length of plans that need to be constructed, and thereby exponentially decrease the amount of search ...

Hierarchical production planning model in flexible job shop including a preemption and sequence-dependent setup times

open access: yesIngeniería e Investigación, 2008
Production planning and control are complex problems for manufacturing organisations. Hierarchical production planning and control is one way to address the problem as it can reduce its complexity and reach good solutions in reasonable computational time.

Clustering Algorithm Reveals Dopamine‐Motor Mismatch in Cognitively Preserved Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To explore the relationship between dopaminergic denervation and motor impairment in two de novo Parkinson's disease (PD) cohorts. Methods n = 249 PD patients from Parkinson's Progression Markers Initiative (PPMI) and n = 84 from an external clinical cohort.

Experimental Evaluation of 100Cr6 Steel Microindented Surfaces Under Lubricated Nonconformal Point Contacts

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

On Removing Left Recursion from Totally-ordered HTN Domain Models

open access: yesProceedings of the International Florida Artificial Intelligence Research Society Conference
Hierarchical planning is a knowledge-based approach to automated planning, where high-level (compound) tasks are decomposed into simpler tasks until primitive tasks – actions – forming the plan are obtained.

A Multi-Agent Extension of a Hierarchical Task Network Planning Formalism

open access: yesAdvances in Distributed Computing and Artificial Intelligence Journal, 2017
Describing planning domains using a common formalism promotes greater reuse of research, allowing a fairer comparison between different planners and approaches. Common planning formalisms for single-agent planning are already well established (e.g., PDDL,

Thermodynamic Pathways of Nonequilibrium Solidification in Wire‐Arc Additive Manufacturing Fe‐Based Multicomponent Alloy Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Geometry‐driven thermal behavior in wire‐arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) influences microstructural evolution during nonequilibrium solidification of a chemically complex Fe–Cr–Nb–W–Mo–C nanocomposite system. By comparing different deposits configurations, distinct entropy–cooling rate correlations, segregation, and carbide evolution are revealed ...

Hierarchical Path Planning Strategy Based on Software Defined Networking [PDF]

open access: yesJisuanji gongcheng, 2018
The Streaming Media Edge Cloud(SMEC) based on Software Defined Networking(SDN) needs effective path planning strategy. However, the traditional path planning strategy in SDN only considers the load of network and topology information, there are some defects
