A hierarchical approach to multi-project planning under uncertainty [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We survey several viewpoints on the management of the planning complexity of multi-project organisations under uncertainty. A positioning framework is proposed to distinguish between different types of project-driven organisations, which is meant to aid ...

HIERARCHICAL MODELING APPROACH FOR PRODUCTION PLANNING [PDF]

open access: yesIFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1992
Abstract Production management problems are complex owing to large dimensionality, wide variety of decisions of varying scope, focus and time-horizon, and disturbances. A hierarchical approach to these problems is a way to address this complexity, wherein the global problem is decomposed into a series of top-down sub-problems.

Hierarchical Planning With Annotated Skeleton Guidance

open access: yesIEEE Robotics and Automation Letters, 2022
We present a hierarchical skeleton-guided motion planning algorithm to guide mobile robots. A good skeleton maps the connectivity of the subspace of c-space containing significant degrees of freedom and is able to guide the planner to find the desired solutions fast.

totSAT - Totally-Ordered Hierarchical Planning Through SAT

open access: yesAAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence, 2018
In this paper, we propose a novel SAT-based planning approach for hierarchical planning by introducing the SAT-based planner totSAT for the class of totally-ordered HTN planning problems. We use the same general approach as SAT planning for classical

A hierarchical deep reinforcement learning framework for intelligent automatic treatment planning of prostate cancer intensity modulated radiation therapy

open access: yesPhysics in Medicine and Biology, 2021
Purpose. We have previously proposed an intelligent automatic treatment planning (IATP) framework that builds a virtual treatment planner network (VTPN) to operate a treatment planning system (TPS) to generate high-quality radiation therapy (RT ...

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Using Earley Parser for Verification of Totally Ordered Hierarchical Plans

open access: yesProceedings of the International Florida Artificial Intelligence Research Society Conference
Hierarchical planning extends classical planning by capturing the hierarchical structure of tasks via decomposition of tasks to subtasks. Hierarchical plan verification is the problem of determining whether a given plan is valid according to that ...

A Parametric Hierarchical Planner for Experimenting Abstraction Techniques [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
This paper presents a parametric system, devised and implemented to perform hierarchical planning by delegating the actual search to an external planner (the "parameter") at any level of abstraction, including the ground one.

Hierarchical Path Search with Partial Materialization of Costs for a Smart Wheelchair [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
In this paper, the off-line path planner module of a smart wheelchair aided navigation system is described. Environmental information is structured into a hierarchical graph (H-graph) and used either by the user interface or the path planner module ...

RaMBat: Accurate identification of medulloblastoma subtypes from diverse data sources with severe batch effects

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
To integrate multiple transcriptomics data with severe batch effects for identifying MB subtypes, we developed a novel and accurate computational method named RaMBat, which leveraged subtype‐specific gene expression ranking information instead of absolute gene expression levels to address batch effects of diverse data sources.
