Forced vibrations of high-rise buildings
Abstract Studies were conducted to analyze the behavior of a high-rise structure on various kinematic effects, taking into account the real geometry, dissipative and nonlinear properties of the structure material. A generalized approach was developed for the dynamic calculation of high-rise structures, and the frequency response ...

Seismic Response of a Platform-Frame System with Steel Columns [PDF]
Timber platform-frame shear walls are characterized by high ductility and diffuse energy dissipation but limited in-plane shear resistance. A novel lightweight constructive system composed of steel columns braced with oriented strand board (OSB) panels ...

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

ECOSUSTAINABLE HIGH-RISE : The Environmentally Conscious Architecture of Skyscraper
The term " green architecture " is related to evolving architecture which is sensitive to the environment and emerges from the environmental awareness due to the effects of destruction of air, water, energy and earth.

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Non-linear static procedures applied to high-rise residential URM buildings [PDF]
© 2016 Springer Science+Business Media Dordrecht In this work, the vulnerability of an unreinforced masonry building, evaluated on the one hand by using the incremental dynamic analysis, and on the other hand by using nine representative non-linear ...

Bridging the gap: Multi‐stakeholder perspectives of molecular diagnostics in oncology
Although molecular diagnostics is transforming cancer care, implementing novel technologies remains challenging. This study identifies unmet needs and technology requirements through a two‐step stakeholder involvement. Liquid biopsies for monitoring applications and predictive biomarker testing emerge as key unmet needs. Technology requirements vary by

Floor-level premiums in high-rise and low-rise buildings [PDF]
This paper examines a unique feature of multi-storey buildings – floor-level premiums. Floor-level premiums refer to the price paid for the vertical location of a flat, measured by its floor level.
