Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.

Investigating transcription factor dynamics in health and disease using FRAP
FRAP analysis of GFP‐tagged transcription factors reveals how molecular mobility and target engagement change in response to drug treatment. By combining live‐cell imaging, quantitative model fitting, and statistical analysis, this approach uncovers transcription factor dynamics linked to disease mechanisms, providing a powerful framework for ...

Effects of periodontal therapy on C-reactive protein and HDL in serum of subjects with periodontitis
Objective: To investigate the effects of nonsurgical periodontal therapy on levels of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein in the sera and its association with body mass index and high density lipoprotein in subjects with severe periodontitis.

Evaluation of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein in acute asthma
Objective: High sensitivity C reactive protein (Hs-CRP) is an inflammatory marker known to be related to inflammation, infection, and cardiovascular disease. The aim of this study was to evaluate hs-CRP levels in serum of asthmatics and their relationship to pulmonary function tests, serum IgE levels, peripheral

The mycobacterial CIII‐CIV respiratory supercomplex is an obligate assembly, encompassing several subunits of unknown functions. We have characterized the intracellular subunit AscF, and show that it is unlikely to be a sensor for metals or nucleotides, but is required for growth on nonfermentable energy sources, and likely works as an adapter for ...

An epithelial GPR35 isoform supports tumor‐associated transcriptional and metabolic phenotypes
GPR35 generates two functionally distinct isoforms with previously unresolved roles. GPR35‐short mediates immune‐cell chemotaxis, while GPR35‐long is enriched in colorectal cancer epithelium, where it supports increased metabolism, proliferation, and tumor‐associated transcriptional programs.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Prasugrel Results in Higher Decrease in High-Sensitivity C-Reactive Protein Level in Patients Undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention Comparing to Clopidogrel [PDF]
Objectives A growing body of clinical and laboratory evidence indicates that inflammation plays a crucial role in atherosclerosis. In the present study, we compared the effects of clopidogrel and prasugrel on high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP ...
