A Searchable Database of Crystallization Cocktails in the PDB: Analyzing the Chemical Condition Space

open access: yesPatterns, 2020
Summary: Nearly 90% of structural models in the Protein Data Bank (PDB), the central resource worldwide for three-dimensional structural information, are currently derived from macromolecular crystallography (MX).

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Breaking shackles of molecular weight and emission for NIR-II fluorophores by regulating Columb attraction interaction

open access: yesNature Communications
The second near-infrared (NIR-II) dyes provide advantages for in vivo imaging, but challenges persist. A primary issue is the lack of practicable strategies to balance emission wavelength and molecular weight, particularly for low-molecular-weight ( 1000

The Expression and Prognostic Value of Cancer Stem Cell Markers, NRF2, and Its Target Genes in TAE/TACE-Treated Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesMedicina, 2022
Background and Objectives: Activation of NRF2, a key transcription factor of cytoprotectant against oxidative stress, and its target genes are associated with aggressive tumor progression, metastasis and poor survival.

Design automation of microfluidic droplet sorting platforms [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Both basic research and biological design require high throughput screening to parse through the massive amounts of variants generated in experiments. However, the cost and expertise needed for use of such technology limit accessibility.

High-throughput in vivo vertebrate screening [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We demonstrate a high-throughput platform for cellular-resolution in vivo chemical and genetic screens on zebrafish larvae. The system automatically loads zebrafish from reservoirs or multiwell plates, and positions and rotates them for high-speed ...

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Effects of novel microecologics combined with traditional Chinese medicine and probiotics on growth performance and health of broilers

open access: yesPoultry Science, 2022
: In this study, we prepared a kind of novel microecologics, namely Chinese medicine–probiotic compound microecological preparation (CPCMP), which is composed of 5 traditional Chinese medicine herbs (Galla Chinensis, Andrographis paniculata, Arctii ...

Development of a High-Throughput Assay for Identifying Inhibitors of TBK1 and IKKε [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
IKKε and TBK1 are noncanonical IKK family members which regulate inflammatory signaling pathways and also play important roles in oncogenesis. However, few inhibitors of these kinases have been identified.

Bridging the gap: Multi‐stakeholder perspectives of molecular diagnostics in oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Although molecular diagnostics is transforming cancer care, implementing novel technologies remains challenging. This study identifies unmet needs and technology requirements through a two‐step stakeholder involvement. Liquid biopsies for monitoring applications and predictive biomarker testing emerge as key unmet needs. Technology requirements vary by
