Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.

High throughput screening for SARS-CoV-2 inhibitors targeting 5 helix bundle

open access: yesSLAS Discovery
SARS-CoV-2 and other related viruses enter host cells via receptor recognition and membrane fusion. A crucial part of this is mediated by 5HB which is capable of binding to the viral spike heptad repeats (HR2) making 5HB a potential druggable target of ...

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

PKA plays a conserved role in regulating gene expression and metabolic adaptation by phosphorylating Rpd3/HDAC1

open access: yesNature Communications
Cells need to reprogram their metabolism to adapt to extracellular nutrient changes. The yeast histone acetyltransferase SAGA (Spt-Ada-Gcn5-acetyltransferase) has been reported to acetylate its subunit Ada3 and form homo-dimers to enhance its ability to ...

High-Throughput Computational Screening of thermal conductivity, Debye temperature and Gr\"uneisen parameter using a quasi-harmonic Debye Model

open access: yes, 2014
The quasi-harmonic Debye approximation has been implemented within the AFLOW and Materials Project frameworks for high-throughput computational science (Automatic Gibbs Library, AGL), in order to calculate thermal properties such as the Debye temperature

Therapeutic strategies for MMAE‐resistant bladder cancer through DPP4 inhibition

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We established monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE)‐resistant bladder cancer (BC) cell lines by exposure to progressively increasing concentrations of MMAE in vitro. RNA sequencing showed DPP4 expression was increased in MMAE‐resistant BC cells. Both si‐DPP4 and the DPP4 inhibitor sitagliptin suppressed the viability of MMAE‐resistant BC cells.
