Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Highly C‐axis Aligned ALD‐InGaO Channel Improving Mobility and Thermal Stability for Next‐Generation 3D Memory Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials
A way to obtain highly ordered and thermally stable crystalline In–Ga–O (IGO) thin films is reported by atomic layer deposition with novel bulky dimethyl[N‐(tert‐butyl)−2‐methoxy‐2‐methylpropan‐1‐amine] gallium precursor.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Carrier Transport in High Mobility InAs Nanowire Junctionless Transistors

open access: yes, 2015
Ability to understand and model the performance limits of nanowire transistors is the key to design of next generation devices. Here, we report studies on high-mobility junction-less gate-all-around nanowire field effect transistor with carrier mobility ...

Job Mobility and Wage Mobility of High- and Low-paid Workers

open access: yesJournal of Contextual Economics – Schmollers Jahrbuch, 2007
Studies have shown that voluntary job-to-job changes have a positive effect on wage growth. This paper argues that the impact of a job change on wage mobility depends on the position in the wage distribution. Using panel data from the UK and Germany, we show that a change of employer results into a wage increase only for the low paid workers.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Measuring Charge Carrier Mobility of Graphene [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
This research reports measurements of electron mobility in liquid-gated graphene. Graphene field-effect transistor (GFET) biosensors are more sensitive to changes in external fields when the mobility is high; therefore increasing mobility will improve ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Performance Analysis of OTFS Framework Over Wideband Time-Varying Channels

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society
Orthogonal Time Frequency Space (OTFS) modulation has garnered significant attention for its robustness in high-mobility communication scenarios. Existing research predominantly focuses on narrowband time-varying channels, where Doppler effects manifest ...

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...
