Placing three-dimensional isoparametric elements into NASTRAN [PDF]

open access: yes, 1973
Linear (8 node), parabolic (20 node), cubic (32 node) and mixed (some edges linear, some parabolic and some cubic) have been inserted into NASTRAN, level 15.1. First the dummy element feature was used to check out the stiffness matrix generation routines

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Numerical optimization of piezolaminated beams under static and dynamic excitations

open access: yesJournal of Science: Advanced Materials and Devices, 2017
Shape and vibration controls of smart structures in structural applications have gained much attraction due to their ability of actuation and sensing.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Analysis of axisymmetric laminated composite shells subjected to asymmetric loading [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
A finite element formulation for the static analysis of a laminated composite shell of revolution with general meridional curvature, subjected to asymmetric loading, is presented.

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

On Prediction of 3d Stress State in Elastic Shell by Higher-order Shell Formulations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In this work we study the accuracy of modem higher-order shell finite element formulations in computation of 3d stress state in elastic shells. In that sense we compare three higher-order shell models: (i) with seven dislacement-like kinematic parameters,

The electromagnetic Nucleon to Delta transition in Chiral Effective Field Theory

open access: yes, 2006
We present a calculation of the three complex form factors parametrizing the nucleon to Delta transition matrix element in the framework of chiral effective field theory with explicit Delta degrees of freedom.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...
