Transient ischemic attacks as the first presentation of JAK2-V617F positive chronic myeloproliferative neoplasm

open access: yesHematology Reports, 2012
Several studies have shown that thrombotic events may underlie a latent or subclinical myeloproliferative neoplasm (MPN) and precede its definite diagnosis by 1–2 years.

T Lymphocytes in Patients With Nijmegen Breakage Syndrome Demonstrate Features of Exhaustion and Senescence in Flow Cytometric Evaluation of Maturation Pathway

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2020
Patients with Nijmegen Breakage Syndrome (NBS) suffer from recurrent infections due to humoral and cellular immune deficiency. Despite low number of T lymphocytes and their maturation defect, the clinical manifestations of cell-mediated deficiency are ...

Interface Wettability Transition‐Driven Drug Release and Dual‐Phase Functionalization in Implant Abutment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A temporally controlled drug release coating is developed for abutments using a superhydrophobic coating self‐assembled on mesoporous silica. This surface provides sequential functionality: initial contamination resistance through non‐wetting, followed by controlled drug release via wettability transition.

Impact of HLA-DRB1 SE, anti-citrullinated protein antibodies and smoking on radiographic outcome in Greek patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesBMC Rheumatology
Background Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a complex, multifactorial autoimmune disease, whose aetiopathogenesis involves genetic and environmental factors. It remains unclear whether these factors influence the radiographic damage in RA patients.

Solutions to Avoid False Positives for Rituximab in Pre-Transplant Crossmatches

open access: yesAntibodies, 2020
Rituximab (anti-CD20) is commonly used as immunotherapy against B cells, in the context of pre-transplant crossmatches, where the presence of rituximab in the tested sera with donor cells can alter their results both by flow cytometry (FCXM) as ...

T‐Cell Exhaustion in the Tumor Microenvironment: Subcellular Dysfunction, Pan‐Cancer Characteristics, and Therapeutic Interventions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study elucidates the mechanisms of subcellular multidimensional collapse in exhausted T cells. By specifically targeting the nucleus, mitochondria, and endoplasmic reticulum, strategic interventions can effectively remodel the compromised organelle network. This integrated approach drives comprehensive T cell resuscitation, ultimately establishing

Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer Cells Utilize IL8 and CXCL1 to Suppress NK Cells’ Function and Facilitate Cancer Metastasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC) cells evade natural killer (NK) cell immunity by secreting IL8 and CXCL1. These chemokines suppress NK cells’ function via CXCR1/2 and enhance cancer cells’ survival through PD‐L1 upregulation and BCL‐2 anti‐apoptotic signaling.

CD11b+CD43hiLy6Clo splenocyte‐derived macrophages exacerbate liver fibrosis via spleen–liver axis

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
A population of splenic monocytes migrate into the liver and shift to macrophages, which account for the exacerbation of liver fibrosis. Abstract Background and Aims Monocyte‐derived macrophages (MoMFs), a dominant population of hepatic macrophages under inflammation, play a crucial role in liver fibrosis progression.

Senescent Cell Derived Artificial Vesicle‐Based Senolytic Sonovaccine Platform with Augmented Lymph Node Delivery and Antigen Cross‐Presentation Efficacy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A senolytic sonovaccine platform (SenoVac) is developed, in which senescent cell‐derived vesicles serve as broad senescent cell antigen reservior. The “2‐step” click chemistry strategy for effective lymph node delivery, and ultrasound‐triggered endosomal escape to boost cross‐presentation, ensures efficient senescent cell clearance and disease ...
