Regulation of autoimmunity and donor cell engraftment by recipient Lyt-2+ cells during the graft-versus-host reaction. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
When lymphocytes from DBA/2 mice are transferred to (C57BL X DBA/2)F1 (BDF1) mice, the ensuing graft-vs.-host reaction (GVHR) causes an autoimmune illness resembling human SLE.

Expression of CD163 and major histocompatibility complex class I as diagnostic markers for idiopathic inflammatory myopathies

open access: yesArthritis Research & Therapy
Background To develop an inflammation-related immunohistochemistry marker-based algorithm that confers higher diagnostic ability for idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIMs) than IIM-related histopathologic features.

Major Histocompatibility Complex and Cell Cooperation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We have studied the role of major histocompatibility antigens on cell cooperation in the immune response of the chicken. In the 1970's, shortly after the initial discoveries in the mouse, we demonstrated that the T cell-B cell interaction is major ...

Bimetallic Nanoreactor Activates cGAS‐STING Pathway via mtDNA Release for Cancer Metalloimmunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A bimetallic Mn–Ca nanoreactor (MCC) is developed as a non‐nucleotide STING nanoagonist for cancer metalloimmunotherapy. MCC induces Ca2+ overload and hydroxyl radical generation, resulting in mitochondrial damage and mtDNA release. The released mtDNA cooperates with Mn2+ to robustly activate cGAS–STING signaling.

Decoupling peptide binding from T cell receptor recognition with engineered chimeric MHC-I molecules

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2023
Major Histocompatibility Complex class I (MHC-I) molecules display self, viral or aberrant epitopic peptides to T cell receptors (TCRs), which employ interactions between complementarity-determining regions with both peptide and MHC-I heavy chain ...

454 screening of individual MHC variation in an endemic island passerine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Genes of the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) code for receptors that are central to the adaptive immune response of vertebrates. These genes are therefore important genetic markers with which to study adaptive genetic variation in the wild.

The role of class I histocompatibility antigens in the regulation of T-cell activation. [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 1987
Class I major histocompatibility antigens in humans (HLA antigens) were found to participate in the regulation of T-cell activation and proliferation induced by phytohemagglutinin. W6/32, a monomorphic antibody directed against class I HLA-A,B,C antigens, significantly inhibited the phytohemagglutinin-induced cell proliferation of peripheral blood ...

Characterization of Microplastics in Human Gastric Cancer and Control Tissues and Analysis of Associated Genetic Features

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study characterizes the presence of microplastics in human normal gastric, para‐tumor, and gastric tumor tissue and confirms the association between microplastic exposure and lymph node metastasis in gastric cancer. This study explores the transcriptomic changes induced by microplastic exposure, laying the foundation for further investigation into
