NDST3‐Induced Epigenetic Reprogramming Reverses Neurodegeneration in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NDST3‐mediated epigenetic reprogramming revitalizes neuronal circuits in the substantia nigra and striatum to halt dopaminergic neuron degeneration and restore motor function in Parkinson's disease models. This strategy promotes neuronal maintenance and functional recovery, highlighting NDST3's therapeutic potential in neurodegenerative disorders ...

SIRT7 is a histone desuccinylase that functionally links to chromatin compaction and genome stability

open access: yesNature Communications, 2016
SIRT7 is a member of sirtuin family proteins that are described as NAD+-dependent class III histone deacetylases. Here, the authors show that SIRT7 is histone desuccinylase catalysing H3K122 desuccinylation, thereby promoting chromatin condensation and ...

Dose Effects of Histone Deacetylase Inhibitor Tacedinaline (CI-994) on Antipsychotic Haloperidol-Induced Motor and Memory Side Effects in Aged Mice

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience, 2021
Background: Elderly patients treated with antipsychotic drugs often experience increased severity and frequency of side effects, yet the mechanisms are not well understood.

Non-Hydroxamate Histone Deacetylase Inhibitors [PDF]

open access: yesCurrent Medicinal Chemistry, 2005
A number of histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitors have been developed as anticancer agents and most of them are hydroxamic acid derivatives, typified by suberoylanilide hydroxamic acid (SAHA), Trichostatin A (TSA) and NVP-LAQ824. However, hydroxamic acids have been associated with poor pharmacokinetics and severe toxicity. In addition, although isozyme-

METTL1‐Mediated M7G tRNA Modification Promotes Residual Liver Regeneration After Hepatectomy via Translational Control

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
METTL1 and its mediated m7G tRNA modification are significantly up‐regulated after partial hepatectomy (PHx). Overexpression of METTL1 improves the efficiency of liver regeneration after PHx, increases the proliferation of hepatocytes, and accelerates the recovery of liver function.

The role of histone deacetylases in human gastrointestinal and associated glands cancer [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Biomedical Sciences, 2019
Background & Objective: In the eukaryotic cells, the DNA wraps around the histone proteins (H2A, H2B, H3, and H4) and constitutes the nucleosome. Chromatin organization plays a major role in the control of gene expression.

Research advances of histone deacetylases in acute kidney injury

open access: yesLinchuang shenzangbing zazhi, 2022
Histone deacetylases (HDACs) are expressed by silencing the deacetylation of histone lysine.HDACs can also deacetylate non-histone proteins and regulate cell biological functions.Abnormal function of HDACs is closely correlated with the occurrence and ...

USP9X as a Candidate Mediator of Prenatal Aspirin‐Induced Ovarian Reserve Reduction in Offspring Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study suggests that prenatal aspirin exposure is associated with reduced ovarian reserve in offspring, associated with HDAC1‐linked epigenetic downregulation of Usp9x as a candidate mechanism. These preclinical findings provide new insights into fetal‐origin ovarian disorders and contribute to the evidence base concerning aspirin's gestational ...

Gut microbiota–derived short‐chain fatty acids regulate group 3 innate lymphoid cells in HCC

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Abstract Background and Aims Type 3 innate lymphoid cells (ILC3s) are essential for host defense against infection and tissue homeostasis. However, their role in the development of HCC has not been adequately confirmed. In this study, we investigated the immunomodulatory role of short‐chain fatty acids (SCFAs) derived from intestinal microbiota in ILC3

Phase I dose-escalation study of the mTOR inhibitor sirolimus and the HDAC inhibitor vorinostat in patients with advanced malignancy. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Preclinical models suggest that histone deacetylase (HDAC) and mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) inhibitors have synergistic anticancer activity. We designed a phase I study to determine the safety, maximum tolerated dose (MTD), recommended phase II ...
