HLA‐DR antigens in gold‐induced neutropenia [PDF]

open access: yesArthritis & Rheumatism, 1986
We studied the clinical courses of 9 patients who developed acute gold-induced neutropenia with marrow aplasia. Eight of these carried HLA-DR4, compared with only 2 of 9 who had mild, chronic, isolated neutropenia (P less than 0.05). Only 1 of 9 patients with myelotoxicity carried HLA-DR3.

Impaired Intracellular Transport and Cell Surface Expression of Nonpolymorphic HLA-E [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
The assembly of the classical, polymorphic major histocompatibility complex class I molecules in the endoplasmic reticulum requires the presence of peptide ligands and ~2-microglobulin (~2m). Formation of this trimolecular complex is a prerequisite for e~

Emergence of highly profibrotic and proinflammatory Lrat+Fbln2+ HSC subpopulation in alcoholic hepatitis

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Lrat+ quiescent hepatic stellate cells (qHSC) give rise to Lrat+Fbln2+ activated HSC (aHSC) in alcohol‐associated hepatitis and this subpopulation is highly profibrotic, inflammatory, and immunoregulatory based on their single cell transcriptomic profile. Abstract Background and Aims Relative roles of HSCs and portal fibroblasts in alcoholic hepatitis (

Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) Frequencies and 4-loci HLA Haplotype Frequencies in Southern Thailand

open access: yesJournal of Health Science and Medical Research (JHSMR)
Objective: To determine the antigen and haplotype frequencies of human leukocyte antigen-A (HLA-A), -B, -DRB1, and -DQB1 in southern Thailand. Material and Methods: We retrospectively analyzed HLA typing data from patients treated at Songklanagarind ...

Evaluation of 28 Human Embryonic Stem Cell Lines for Use as Unrelated Donors in Stem Cell Therapy: Implications of HLA and ABO Genotypes

open access: yesCell Transplantation, 2010
For human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) to be used clinically, it is imperative that immune responses evoked by hESCs and their derivates after transplantation should be prevented.

EVALUATION OF HUMAN LEUKOCYTE ANTIGEN CLASS I AND II ANTIGENS IN HELICOBACTER PYLORI-POSITIVE PEDIATRIC PATIENTS WITH ACTIVE GASTRITIS AND DUODENAL ULCER

open access: yesArquivos de Gastroenterologia, 2017
BACKGROUND: As being the first bacteria determined to be carcinogenic, Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is a pathogen localized in the stomach in more than half of the world population.

Autoimmune and non-autoimmune thyroid diseases have different patterns of cellular HLA class II expression

open access: yesSão Paulo Medical Journal
CONTEXT: Surface HLA-DR antigen is usually only expressed by antigen-presenting cells (APC). In autoimmune thyroid disease, follicle cells function as APC, thus expressing HLA-DR. However, non-autoimmune thyroid diseases may also express surface class II

A distinct subset of human NK cells expressing HLA-DR expand in response to IL-2 and can aid immune responses to BCG. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Subsets of NK cells can have distinct functions. Here, we report that >25% of human peripheral blood NK cells express HLA-DR after culture with IL-2.

Association of Alport's syndrome with HLA-DR2 antigen in a group of unrelated patients

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research, 1998
A few family studies have evaluated HLA antigens in Alport's syndrome; however, there are no large population studies. In the present report, we studied 40 unrelated white patients with Alport's syndrome seen at the Unit of Renal Transplantation, Faculty
