HLA‐E polymorphisms in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation
Tissue Antigens, 2012Human leukocyte antigen (HLA)‐E is an inhibitory ligand of natural killer cells and γ/δ T‐cells. Differential expression of HLA‐E alleles on the cell surface has been reported to influence outcome of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). We performed HLA‐E genotyping in 116 HSCT patients and their HLA‐matched unrelated donors.

A Chinese leukemia patient, typed as HLA‐E*01:01:01:11, a novel HLA‐E allele
HLA, 2019There is a single nucleotide different in intron 1 between E*01:01:01:01 and E*01:01:01:11.

The interaction of HLA-E with CD94/NKG2A is dependant on the binding of HLA class I signal sequence derived peptides to HLA-E. In the caucasoid population two HLA-E alleles are observed at equal frequencies. Here we study the functional differences between the two HLA-E molecules with regard to cell surface expression, peptide binding, and potential to

BACKGROUNDHuman leukocyte antigen‐E (HLA‐E) is a nonclassical major histocompatibility complex class I molecule that recently came into sharper focus as a putative marker of advanced tumor stages and disease progression. In solid tumors, increased HLA‐E expression as well as elevated soluble HLA‐E (sHLA‐E) plasma levels are associated with a poor ...

A novel HLA‐E allele, HLA‐E*01:03:01:05, identified in a healthy Chinese blood donor
HLA, 2019HLA‐E*01:03:01:05 differs from E*01:01:01:01 by a single nucleotide exchange in nucleotide −33(T‐>C).

A novel HLA‐E allele, HLA‐E*01:12:01:01, identified in a healthy Chinese blood donor
HLA, 2019HLA‐E*01:12:01:01 differs from HLA‐E*01:01:01:01 by a single nucleotide in exon 5 changing 276 proline to glutamine.

Targeting HLA-E for prostate cancer immunotherapy
The Journal of Immunology, 2018Abstract Genetically modified strain 68-1 rhesus cytomegalovirus (RhCMV)-derived vaccine vectors uniquely elicit CD8+ T cells recognizing peptides presented by non-polymorphic MHC-E instead of conventional MHC-I molecules. Since MHC-E (HLA-E in humans) is a ligand for inhibitory receptors on NK cells, the upregulation of MHC-E is a known
